I have someone who i trust and follow. He guides and advices me from time to time. People find me weird cause he's older. Would they say the same if he was my age?

I talked to older men online all the time when I was in college who were honestly better emotional support to me than my actual dad. I met plenty of kind men who helped me without being creepy or asking for anything in return. Made some good friends.
