Anyone else not into this Gen vs Gen crap that other people get wrapped up in?

I’m a millennial with friends who are my age, boomers and GenX-Z. I don’t care what peoples age is so long as they are fun to be around. And having a broader age group of friends is a definite perk. 🙂

It's annoying being put into a box or categorized and evaluated due to which year you were born. Labels suck.

I know what a millenial is, but I get confused by the other labels 😅 I love being friends with all sorts of people 🤗

I got paid the nicest compliment. Someday at work said I was like a cool uncle.

Pretty cool. But yeah I think of myself much like I did in high school. Just a little wiser now
BlueVeins · 22-25
I mostly am just entertained by it.

I absolutely agree. I have friends of all ages. Although i do notice a small difference between the generations. But its just like any other difference that makes us all unique. Like someone who likes sports or go to bars or play video games. Also, the lable of a generation is stereotypical and not everyone in that generation acts or feels like what the label defines them as. Its more on how people are raised and the culture they come from.

I'm not into any of that nonsense. We aren't narrowed down labels, we are humans.
DownTheStreet · 51-55, M
Healthy. There’s power and money in division, but nothing good in it.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
I have friends and relatives of all ages, although most are around mine.

I can't be bothered with all this labelling, and the slang terms coined for the labels show how shallow and silly it is.
ineedadrink · 51-55, M
This is the most uplifting thing I've read here in ages. Thank you for not hating me. 🙂
Ceinwyn · 26-30, F
@ineedadrink Anytime 🙂
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
It's largely made up. The generations really don't exist.
Really · 80-89, M
It's become a culture where no one feels their life is complete without some kind of us-vs-them issue, real or imagined.
Ceinwyn · 26-30, F
@Really Happily - for me anyway - I’ve chosen not to be a part of it, and it only exists online.
Really · 80-89, M
@Ceinwyn The us-vs-them syndrome is not limited to 'social media'. Would that it were so! Having to 'take sides' about anything & everything seems like a universal preoccupation. Say you're neutral or undecided about anything and you get mocked for 'sitting on the fence.' I think of Bush's "You're with us or you're against us". We see the ultimate result from this kind of 'thinking' right now in Ukraine. Whichever nationality you declare yourself to be - Russian or Ukrainian - can decide whether you get murdered.
deadteddy · 26-30, F
You’re a millennial? You should maybe change your age bracket 😜
Ceinwyn · 26-30, F
@deadteddy Millennials being born after 2000. Check your maths 🙂
deadteddy · 26-30, F
@Ceinwyn lmao
I appreciate this. I’d rather not be dismissed because someone thinks I’ve had too many birthdays. There are people of all ages whom I like and respect because I think they’re good people. 😊
@bijouxbroussard Ok boomer. (Ducking and running.)
What do you think about the massive debt your generation will inherit?
Ceinwyn · 26-30, F
@RocktheHouse Is this an American thing?
@Ceinwyn oh sorry thought you were American. Yes.
