I take offense to all the people here saying being a ghost is a bad thing 👻

@Ghostinthemachine 😅🤣🤣😂
@RadiantRose Thank you for the BC 😊

Neither, people make choices and must do what's best for themselves. It's SW, chances of finding truthful, genuine, loyal people are few, always be prepared and don't take it personally.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
that's basically the same deal
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
They are both very painful when it’s from someone you care a great deal about and/or love.
Being ignored by that person hurts and can make you feel like you don’t matter at all to them and are completely insignificant.
Being blocked hurts and makes you wonder what you did wrong or feels like they want to hide you from the rest of their world because they are ashamed of you.

Neither impacts me at all. All it tells me is someone has signaled they want no more contact. Which I respect.
eMortal · M
Instant Messaging has created a culture where people have a lot of expectations and very little room to hide their intent.
If you prioritize one relationship/friendship over an other, the neglected party will know right away.
If you want to take time to think before replying, it can be misinterpreted as an attempt to ´leave them on “read” ‘ just to narcissistically control them.
I hate when they take too long to reply and I have to be one who initiates the contact most of the time.
I ghost them after 4 failed attempts.

Whether blocker or ghoster, blockee or ghostee, whatever it is, most people on social media are totally unaware. It's justified when they do it, but not ok when someone does it to them.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@LoneVoice I think it's ok if it happens to me.
Hadn't heard from my Nephew for years but he was in trouble, no job, eviction, etc and needed to borrow money. I lent him $4500. He seemed appreciative and friendly for a few weeks then he ghosted me. Why pay the money back? That hurt.
RadiantRose · 31-35, F
@Pitchblue Wow I'm so sorry to hear that, sounds painful
@RadiantRose Unbelievable that you can save someone from problems they created themselves and instead of paying the money back they write off the relationship. AND I didn't even ask for the money back.
Pinkstarburst · F
Neither bother me. It is what it is.

Being blocked is at least a message of some kind and a clear ending. Being ghosted is much worse.
Rilyn · 31-35, F
Ghosted. But whatever they'll get it coming too.
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
Ghosted, Blocked means you didn't get along with them, Ghosted, you were lead along to believe you got along
Fluffybull · F
@RoxClymer Agree. I wasn't at all hurt that I was ghosted, I just thought it pathetic that the person didn't either call me out on posting something that offended them, or just block me. Gutless. That's why I blocked them. Oddly enough they're back under another name and seem to forget I was once a "friend" lol. We'll see how long that lasts.......😂😆
val70 · 51-55
Either isn't being kind. I think that on here there's too much blocking going on. My own experience is that one doesn't understand what ghosting really entails either. One can't expect to be doing that on a person's very own posting nor comment
bijouxbroussard · F
Hard to say. When you’re blocked by someone you like, they’re out of sight so you can eventually stop thinking about them. But if I understand "ghosting" they’re still around, and you see them interacting with others—just not with you. I’d rather be blocked, tbh. 🥺
RadiantRose · 31-35, F
@bijouxbroussard I agree my friend ❤
Fluffybull · F
@bijouxbroussard Me too. I had someone on here who stopped commenting etc so I assumed one of my posts had offended them. They were still around, just ignoring me. So I blocked them. 👍
akindheart · 61-69, F
they are both a form of rejection so both are painful. Ghosted is cowardly. Blocked is usually because of a transgression so I guess ghosting is more painful.
