Is it more hurtful to be Blocked or Ghosted?

Which one would you say would be more hurtful?
1. Being Blocked
2. Being Ghosted

Hadn't heard from my Nephew for years but he was in trouble, no job, eviction, etc and needed to borrow money. I lent him $4500. He seemed appreciative and friendly for a few weeks then he ghosted me. Why pay the money back? That hurt.

@RadiantRose Unbelievable that you can save someone from problems they created themselves and instead of paying the money back they write off the relationship. AND I didn't even ask for the money back.
