I Have Anxiety

I have anxiety, but I just had a good idea (inspired by @diablesse ‘s post.)

Next time I’m having overwhelming feelings, I can visualize turning down the volume knob on an old-fashioned stereo system. I can imagine that I’m turning the volume down on my feelings.

For me, it depends on the time of the month whether or not I can rein in my emotions. It’s frustrating!

I've heard of that tactic but haven't tried it. Sounds effective! What I sometimes do is either A. Remind myself, oh it's just anxiety right now (and often the fear diminishes even a bit), or B. I say 'Blank' to myself, and picture my mind being wiped clean or a blank mind. That second one has helped a few times. It SUCKS, anxiety, I'm sorry you go to through it too🌺😘

Good idea. You can build on this technique with books and dvd's on "cognitive behavior modification". There's stuff on You Tube as well.

Imagining this may also take your mind back to a simpler, more peaceful time ... a time of hi-fi, rather than wi-fi ... which in my opinion was a better age, one with less pressures.
