@PlumBerries: This! Water exercise would be best.

I am not a man but I am going answer anyway. I too have arthritis which makes it difficult to exercise but I found supplement called Serrapeptase that helps with inflammation. It really does work too. I have been on it for two weeks now and all swelling is gone and much less pain.

@TearDropsOfLove: I have arthritis. Is that a prescription or over-the-counter?
SW-User
@hunkalove: Over the counter. I got mine online from Walmart. Get the higher units. I use the one with 120,000 SPU's. There is no side effect at all if you take only one or two a day. I wanted faster healing so I have been taking 10 a day. At that dose it does cause a healing crises. Most people don't want that.

Research "Resistant Starches" and how they can help a person lose weight and balance hormones (and help with other health issues), including hunger hormones. There are some neat tricks to it like eating some of the foods cold after they've been cooked, it raises the level of resistant hormones. Balanced my hunger hormones within 48 hours and stopped my cravings for sugar. I have been off of grains and refined sugar for 7 months now and have lost 40 pounds.

Exercise and fewer calories.

@Halcyon: "arthritis"

@Fernie: The whole point of Nautilus type exercise equipment is low impact for people who have restrictions. They make up 90% of the floor space of every gym I've ever been in.

The other method is to tell him that he is not getting any until he loses weight
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Tie him to a chair and feed him oatmeal.

It's sad that he doesn't care but...really...you can't do anything about it.
robertsnj · 56-60, M
lot of truth to that---respect older people disciplined enough to control food intake
I walk 10 miles a day and try to stay away from carbs as much as possible.
OzDiver · 61-69, M
Swimming and yoga, and really careful about what calories are going in.

you eat less and you exercise. That's all. If your husband is stubborn, then he won't lose weight, easy peasy.
