I Lost My Father

It's been a little over a week and I'm not sure how to process it. He was happy and healthy one day and the next day he was gone. I still don't know how to process is. Thank you for being an amazing friend and teaching me what I needed to learn.

My condolences. I have some idea of what it's like. My wife passed one night in her sleep, totally unexpectedly. It's almost three years now but occasionally I still struggle to believe it. I still hear her voice, her laugh. that was a shock at first but now it's comforting. We all grieve differently. It may take a while but you will find the right way for you & no doubt help you mom in the process. Best wishes to you & your family.

My sympathies. That's a big loss. My dad died after 14 grueling weeks of hospitalization and it was still a shock.

@Mamapolo2016 I don't think she'd travel an hour to town for a movie or lunch. I've been spending as much time around her as she allows me to.

@Davin Then need her. You're thinking about buying a chair or a new suit and you need her advice. Would she please come to town and give you the help you so desperately need? She could come Friday night and go back Saturday or Sunday.

@Mamapolo2016 I know, I'm actually going to get ideas from my
Tante Gertrud, who knows my mom better than I do, since I can't leave my wife home alone for long, as she needs help getting around and I have to keep a diligent eye on mom, (with the help of my brother and sister in law)

I’m sorry for your loss. I’m losing both my parents to dementia and poor health. It’s killing me seeing them so frail and how quickly they have both deteriorated. I have words of comfort for them and actions of love. I love them both so much it’s so hard letting go.

Mine passed abruptly as well, It takes time to set in.
Took months for me until it hit me properly, it'll just take time.

@Ryannnnnn Thanks. I was hoping he'd a least meet his grandson. 😆I'll remember the day he slapped me when I told him he was going to be a grandpa. He wasn't quite lucid then and told me that my ex-girlfriend was a whore.

@SW-User Thanks I tried to block out the world for awhile. I think he may have knew he wasn't feeling his best. Never once have I seen him push for me to get married as quick as I did.
