I come from a very long line of ranchers here in the west. Both Native and settlers, the hardest thing in the world was switching to an all veggie diet. about nine years ago, I was sitting at breakfast eating sausage and eggs, and I looked at the sausage on my fork, I no longer saw a piece of meat, I saw the animal. From that day forward, if I wanted meat I would ask myself, "at this moment, Walks, could you go out and kill, skin, butcher, an animal'? Oh, I am capable of doing it, I have knowledge, but, could I KILL and DO all the work it takes to have that tasty steak, or burger, or chicken. So, knowing the work it takes to kill and skin and butcher a cow, or chicken or lamb, etc. I decide 'nope!' now, my family still eats meat, and sometimes, I'll take a taste of a perfectly grilled steak and it tastes like shit! It tastes like death to me!!!

I wouldn't trade it either! That's why I hung up my gun and started REALLY enjoying what the west has to offer! Now, I shoot with a camera!

Why are you against people not wanting to eat them?
It is ridiculous that anyone would get mad over them simply existing, though

Nah. I explained exactly what you were trying to do. You dancing around that fact is your problem.
I WANT to eat it, though. It’s pretty necessary that my food be dead. I agreed that life is valuable, but not equal. A cows life, is not equal to a humans life. I WANT to eat real meat, so killing things that provide that is morally defensible to me. I don’t know how much clearer I can get.
You keep referring to the hypothetical cow as “life”, as if life is objectively equal in all forms. Like, that’s literally what you keep doing. Perhaps if you made an actual argument other than, “Don’t eat meat because it goes against my morals.” we’d actually get somewhere. So, please, make an actual argument rather trying to enforce your idea of morality onto others.
So, I guess to put it in simple terms for you.
You value a cow’s life more than I do. I don’t care if people eat them or any other animal and you do. Sure, there are alternatives and I don’t have to eat real meat, but I want to, so I do. You don’t have to eat real meat, so don’t
It’s that simple.

I am someone who just gave up poultry products because I love birds. But I don't think why someone have to force people to not to eat meat and try meat substitute some of which is horrible by the way. It's part of nature for eating meat.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
I'm not against it, if someone wants to eat plants made to taste like meat,be my guest. I will eat the real thing.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@DunDunDun So you call people "retard" often? No hostility in that?
DunDunDun · 22-25, F
@FreeSpirit1 You have animals tortured and abused their entire lives for no reason other than "I want to" yet me saying a word you don't wanna be called is hostile lol, quit being such a sensitive little bitch, not everything is about you and your feelings.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@DunDunDun OK, Have a nice night.
I'm not against them at all. I think some of them are delicious, but some can be really salty.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
I never understood it either, I think people are emotional about their food rather than logical. I think some of it is psychological at least.

@Allnighter
So your position is "i prefer to kill animals unnecessarily and those who don't are weird and weak"...
Ok. Doesn't seem like you're the intellectual type so i won't appeal to your intellect😏

@Allnighter People *never* liked artificial over "actual with anything"? Extremely incorrect.

Some stupid sense of pride.
A really good veggie burger is not the same thing as a beef burger.
But a really good veggie burger is still really good and no reason I won't buy and eat 'em.

There are some veggie burgers that taste pretty much like beef. But yeah, veggie burgers and whatnot can be good in their own right.

They taste like shit 99% of the time, have an awful texture 100% of the time, cost more, and are processed as much as anything in the canned food isle or tv diner freezer.
Give me my real food. Give me my meat!

@DunDunDun No, I phrased it short to save time. Bullet points are a that is needed in text, I'm not writing books and articles. Try sperging a little less.
I don't torture animals to death, I shoot them. Torture sound the quality of the meat, thought the Chinese believe it enhances it, but they are weird and crazy over there.
The reason is it is a part of my diet. It's a good reason

That's what I ask @SW-User whenever I make him something using soy beans 😒
MethDozer · M
Probably doesn't want the esteogen@SW-User
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@MethDozer Eh I used to be on the fence about this too but then I found out that meat and dairy have far more estrogen in them. Dairy alone is higher in it. I think there was something in soy that's fake estrogen or something. I don't remember what I heard.
SW-User
@SW-User how about we just shoot a cow in the head?
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
The White Castle meatless burgers are the best I've had.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Tastyfrzz I would love to try them and I'm sure White Castle is sincere with their vegan burgers. I get suspicious though because other food establishments were caught trying to serve meat to vegans so it's a trust issue.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@SatanBurger it's beyond of impossible. Not sure which brand.
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
Finding sustainable solutions to increase the capacity of the planet isn’t the solution. We are overpopulated. It is choking the planet.
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
They are the same. The reason driving meat flovoured vegetable products is the sustainability.
Lostpoet · M
I want that. I can't wait until me at grown in a lab starts working.
daisymay · 51-55, T
I am interested in trying the kelp or whatever it is that tastes like bacon. I've eaten portobello caps as a burger patty.
I will try something, but if I don't like it I'm not going to eat it :D

Beyond meat is just ok. It has a weird bitter flavor that makes me not eat it. Ever.
Obviously a personal preference.
I'm not a huge fan of overly processed foods. Meat like substances that are not meat can't be great for the body.

indeed, personal preference plays a role. But fyi, meat isn't very good for you either. At least not very much of it.

I've tasted a few bean burgers that were alright, heavy on the salt but alright. Main issue was that they were incredibly expensive and shrunk pretty bad.
fun4us2b · M
It will take time - I'm in between, I like both....and I'm very health consious and actually went vegan for about 5 years when I was in my 20s
I bet in 40 years, meat will be rare (😅 no pun intended)

My body doesn’t agree with soy based substitutes. The whey protein stuff is alright. Eat it all the time.
It is really hard to get a decent burger in New Dehli….
Rutterman · 46-50, M
I'm not against it. Increasing consumer choices is generally a good thing.

I’m not against them but they taste weird

I'm interested in seeing how cloned meat develops.
