They taste like shit 99% of the time, have an awful texture 100% of the time, cost more, and are processed as much as anything in the canned food isle or tv diner freezer.
Give me my real food. Give me my meat!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you haven;t actually tried meat substitutes to honestly make that claim.
Here's the thing, maybe most of them are shit....so what? But the 1% that aren't.
And if you're concerned about processed foods then i expect you to take that concern into all the food you buy and not just meat products.

@MethDozer As someone who actually eats meat substitutes, that's really not true. they don't always taste all that similar to meat, but they don't have to. They have their distinct taste, and they just serve a similar purpose to meat. They're something simple you can put on a sandwhich and lather in condiments.

@Pikachu Have I tried all of them no. I have tried enough of them. Just as I haven't tried every single meat out there, but tried enough of them.
Sorry but the food chain just isn't a moral dilemma for me.
If plant based diets are so delicious then why try and make them taste like evil meat? K.I.S.S.
I like veggies, but I rather they just try and taste like what they are. Just like I don't want or desire a broccoli flavored sausage.

@MethDozer okay, just asking cause usually people who say, "OHHHH I'VE TRIED VEGAN MEAT AND IT ALWAYS TASTE BAD" are usually lying, and about the whole "food chain" thing, you can just not lol, humans have decided to remove themselves from the food chain so like, if a lion can't kill a human and humans accept it as part of the food chain, then humans should stop killing animals too

lol because meat tastes good. Recall that the point of this is not killing animals.
I have tried enough of them.
I suspect that's a lie but i'll have to give you the benefit of the doubt.
But you didn't answer me. Why not just buy the products that are good? Unless the real answer is that you just don't care about taking life?

@BlueVeins Murder is understandable and even justified sometimes. Fact.
I don't have any moral dilemma with eating meat. No, factory farming yes, eating meat no. I have the same moral dilemma over all factory farming practices be them for meat or plants as well.
I also have no ethical dilemma over trapping beaver and muskrat for warm functional winterwear either. Yet I do have a problem with fur for fashion. Sooooo....

Well, in what situations is murder cool and in which is it not? I'm starting to get the sense that your moral code is based on necessity, but I'd prefer to hear you specifically confirm or decline that suspicion.

I think you'd agree with me that it's worse to kill something that suffers, that feels emotion.
Or would you shoot a dog in the head as easily as you'd pluck a dandelion?
Exactly.
So why would you take the life of another feeling creature just because you like it better?

@BlueVeins Dude, if you get hosed over by someone for $20,000 and you go murk him.out of anger I don't think its right, but I understand and give you some leeway.
If you bust in to some pool boy pounding your wife on your kids bed? Then you beat the snot out of him in the heat of passion and he ends up hemorrhaging? I kinds understand.
If you go and bleed out the guy who beat your mother or rapes your sister? I don't even hold that against you.
Then we have the legal homicide instances.
