How do you sign off your letters?

I just saw a letter that said “Very Truly Yours”...that belongs to a US Attorney.
That’s icky.
It seems more like how you would sign off on a love letter...😂

I use “Kind Regards” or “Kindest Regards”. I remind people to speak nicely of me 😊
Call me, beep me, if you wanna reach me xoxo

I say 'Thank you' and that's it.
Ok. Like thank you as in thanks for reading? @SW-User

@Annii Yeah, and like thank you for your time. But it depends who you're writing to I suppose. As long as it's respectful, that's the main thing.

My business letters are either regards, and then my name below. Sincerely is my go to.
I find Sincerely so outdated. But ok. I just find sincerity is mostly fake, our society is all about “me”. @gdon39
Forward this to 10 friends... or die!

“Best regards”

I just write my name with no flowery sign-off or formality.
I don’t think it’s flowery, just appropriate. @MarkPaul

@Annii It's a bit overkill and a bit too conformist for my tastes.
@MarkPaul ok, us older ones were taught differently I guess. I remember having to write a letter to the local fire chief because he came to visit our grade 3 class one day. I signed off with “Love, <my name>
Omg my teacher threw a fit. I got an F. I just remembered this memory...so weird.

Best Wishes ♥️
@BalmyNites on a formal letter?
BalmyNites · F
@Annii Oh, you didn’t specify that

In which case, if the letter is headed with the addressee’s actual name (ie Mr Smith) the proper sign off would be ‘Yours sincerely’

If the letter is simply headed Dear Sir/Madam, etc then the correct sign off would be ‘Yours faithfully’

When I see that I assume the writer is a heavy drinker - I know, I know, but it is a drinking thing @Bushmanoz
