4meAndyou · F
I have a son, and every once in a while I toy with the idea of adopting a teenager who has no other family...but then I remember what my son was like as a teenager, and I decide I can't deal with it.

I'd love to have had two. But healthwise, and being completely sensible, it's just the one for us.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@SW-User She is a gem for sure. 🤗
BananaBrown · 41-45, F
No. My kids are teenagers now. As much as I’ve loved the last 15 years, you couldn’t pay me enough money to do it again😐

Yes, but with this pandemic going on it would end up being too late for us once it’s over.
PhoenixPhail · M
@SW-User Not necessarily.
SW-User
We would both be in our late 30s approaching 40 by the time this is over.@PhoenixPhail
PhoenixPhail · M
@SW-User And you think that's too old to have children?
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
I've got a genetic condition that would most certainly be passed on to any offspring I might have. So as much as I would like to have a kid, I wouldn't do that to them.
Viper · M
If I meet my right partner and feel we'll be together forever, then yes, I'd like us to have kids.
If I don't meet or connect with her, then I guess I'll go with pets.

I've entertained the idea but honestly I'm not sure I'll ever be stable enough to take care of a tiny human the way they deserve.

@Jobara Yes, that is simply too old to start having children. You'll be pushing 80 when they reach drinking age, if you had them today, if you're still around. Raising children should be done in the mid-to-late-20s up to about age 35. That's the way it is. There are programs - Big Brothers, etc, where people can do plenty of good for children without having to raise their own.
