I Miss My Dad

I didn't had a very frank and loving relationship with my father .But at all times I wanted to make him proud ...When he passed away due to cancer last year, I didn't had a job back then...Now I have a job and it bleeds my heart to think of him that he would have been proud to see that his son is not useless...My heart just cries and so am I ..Missing him😭

My heart goes to you and every other person who ever lost parent. Losing a parent is one of the worst experiences
OWise1 · F
I lost my mom when I was around your age and it's an ache that never goes away. I understand your loss, your grief and your pain as there are many times I have wished she could have shared in my joys. However, know that your dad is with you as you are part of him and if you are spiritual in any way, he guides you still, protects you and knows you are doing well. Never lose sight of the unknown or the unseen for it is always with us.

@OWise1: losing parents are the most painful experience of life
OWise1 · F
@darknight007: Yes and yet the experience teaches appreciation for life, for others, for love.

Yes agreed

He sees you from above is what I believe. You just being you with or without job would make him proud . You are a piece of him that he made. <3

I can identify, I lost my dad to cancer back in '99. I wasn't emotionally close with my dad either, but I always looked up to him. I think about him often and wish he was still here. I have so many things I'd love to have his input on now.

I completely get it. Try to take heart in that, although he's not here to see it, you're living your life in a way he would be proud of.

Anytime.
I guess I might stand alone here as I lost both my parents within 5 days of each other back in 1993. And to all that posted here I am sorry for your loss(es) but I do not have grief that my parents have passed. I only extricated myself recently from all the negative behavior and stunted growth I suffered by their decisions towards me. I blamed my mother for taking a drug in the 1950's to prevent miscarriages but it left me sterile and it affected my body in negative ways. But I learned that it was my father who was not the proper role model for me. He provided me with no leadership, offered me no example of what it takes to be a man or what it takes to make it in this world. As a result I am 62 years old and I finally found who I am and I have cleansed myself through therapy to become the man that I should have been so many years ago.

One thing is for sure, Your Heavenly Father loves you and is very proud of you. I am sorry you lost your dad and had unfinished business with him. Maybe it would help to write letters to him?
darknight007 · 31-35, M
What letters can do to heal pain
Silverwings · 61-69, F
They just might help you to release it.

A phychologist reccommended it.

sorry to hear that. I know the feeling though. I was horrible to my mother while she was still alive. Would have been great if she lived to see the woman i turned in to
darknight007 · 31-35, M
@Lullacus: she must be pleased i hope to see you now

Sorry you miss your dad. Unfortunately life is for the living and you have to get on with it the best way you can.

What helped me was making new friends.
