What is your take on conspiracy theories?

Some are pretty interesting to read and research about. Some of them just make me go...

JohnnyBliss · 56-60, M
I had a psychotic break several years and really went down the rabbit hole on a few of them.

Heard voices and developed paranoid thoughts/delusions. Thought the government was reading my mind and communicating me using satellites. There was ALL sorts of stuff about it on the internet and I believed it "hook, line, and sinker."

It was due to lack of sleep and stress I later discovered.

I don't give much credit to anything I hear today. But it is a weird wild world and I'm sure there's some strange stuff going on. Just not to the extent that some people believe.
@JohnnyBliss I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we are being watched in some way, shape, or form by the government. We have the technology 🤷🏻‍♀️.

@MalteseFalconPunch They definitely reject the truth, for sure.

Conspiracies exist, but so many conspiracy theories are unfalsifiable, as in nothing can ever disprove them because anything that seems to is said to be part of the conspiracy, and that makes them kind of worthless to debate. It depends on the theory though.
popmol · 22-25, M
some of them are fun, some of them are only true if you believe in a god or holy book and i hate those, others are explained because people believe their eyes over tests and equipment which is stupid :p

What went down on January 6 was definitely part of a conspiracy. The only question is how deep does it go and I have total confidence in the FBI!
@Pfuzylogic Oh yeah, that whole thing had been building for weeks since November.

What I like is that all of these people that thought they were so filled got exposed by the Parler chatting app, too bad so sad.
They will be in the system forever now!

It's like there's been a resurgence of conspiracy theories, and a lot of them aren't even good ones lol
BrandonAngel2023 · 36-40, M
Ive watched alot videos on consliracy theories on youtube.. I find them quiet interesting..
Unless there are hard facts to back it up, it's just mythology.
@quitwhendone Yeah, pretty much. Or entertainment, haha.
The chemtrails...
Elessar · 26-30, M
@quitwhendone I love when they merge them. E.g. chemtrails consisting in particles that will be activated once on the ground by 5G antennas.

It's kind of like when they made those Alien vs Predator movies
@Elessar The Jewish-owned space lasers are going to activate the particles in the chemtrails.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@quitwhendone Ah right, I forgot about this new piece of lore as well lol
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
Someone would be a fooll to say they’re all not true. Some are silly for sure
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Elessar I don’t believe we have been to the moon 🤷🏼‍♀️
Elessar · 26-30, M
@DeluxedEdition Okay, letting alone 9/11 that would result in an articulated and inconclusive talk, how the heck are (physically speaking) HAARP machines capable of altering the weather? (Locally? Globally?)

If satanic rituals made people rich you can bet we'd be 98% satanists over here, and the pope would better go back to France lol

Moonlanding is the easiest to prove, since the mirrors/reflectors that have been installed on the surface can be pinged with a laser by any observatory on the planet, including the ones in countries that would have an interest in discrediting the U.S.
deadgerbil · 22-25
@Elessar here's a good myth busters video on the reflectors/lasers and the moon

They’re interesting twists from sometimes highly paranoid people. I liked the movie with Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson.

Some are so insane. I don’t know why anyone would believe in the craziest ones, but they do.
Elessar · 26-30, M
The ones that trigger that second reaction you mentioned represent like 9:10 of the cases
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
I wonder what some people be smokin' with some of the stuff they come up with.

I like em entertaining lol
I avoid them in general. They’re usually the creation of the paranoid.
@bijouxbroussard Yeah, the crazies...lol.
In a lot of cases, they are too complex to be kept under raps for long. If they aren't blown wide open in a couple of days, they probably aren't worth the bandwidth they take. Look at Jussie Smollett: he couldn't even make something so simple work. Before it had a chance to become a conspiracy theory it was fact
