@4meAndyou I would guess maybe different religions and like people say it's not really being taught any more? All the focus seems to be on the issues of people destroying oour country and culture ,this might seem crappy to say but now only black lives seem to matter and black history seems to be the focus of schools

@cherokeepatti I am trying to imagine my parents NOT making me do my homework...or NOT making sure I could read. I spent most of my childhood sitting inside my closet, reading, because I was irritating my mother and she would shout, "GO READ!!!"

@cherokeepatti Well, I was only in [i]love[/i] with comic books up till about age 12...then I went right into reading Eurotrash bodice rippers at age 13...(we went to Europe and my mother appeared not to notice the lurid, bodice ripping photos on the covers when I bought them at the news stands...🤣 But I also loved to read and learn...once I got past Superman and French heroines...🤣

@Nimbus How do they explain the photos of the bombings and the ruins and so on? Let me guess, "Oh, Dad got drunk one night?"

I read it, get shocked by it, and then I will leave it to you to decide the reality of it.

@4meAndyou The one thing I will say is the way it's worded can be read in different ways. "Almost two-thirds of young American adults do not know that 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust" could mean that on the survey they asked how many were killed or had options and people might have put 5 million, 2 million etc. But it sounds a lot worse when you say it that way.

Not casting doubt for the sake of it but unless I saw the survey for myself I can't really trust the conclusion 100%. Either way I think the point still stands, I don't know what the education ciricullum is like in the US but when I was in school we learnt all of that in years 9-10 I think. If you chose to take it afterwards you'd learn about the Soviets etc.
