I Have A Weight Goal

Hi I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a healthy diet to lose weight. I'm currently overweight and wanting to lose weight I'm currently 14 stone and want to become 8 stone...I'm love swimming and many other exercise's but I tend to get bored easily, which mean's I don't really keep up with my diets or exercises. I change my diet plan at least once a month and change my exercise plan every 3-4 weeks. I'm easily bored and easily distracted. I like to new diets and exercise's...as it's hard for me to keep to a diet and exercise. So I'm asking for help, are there any recommendations?

Unfortunately significant weight loss is a grind but there are ways to make it easier. Get an app like My Fitness Pal or Lose It to help you track your calories and macros and exercises. After about 3-4 months it feels just like part of life.

I also watch and read LOTS of motivating stuff.

Not knowing what medical conditions you have I can only tell you what has worked for me: high protein diet. Set that goal HIGH and you will never over eat carbs. I suggest a good protein powder.

Also LOTS OF CARDIO! Strength training too but mostly cardio.

I am obsessed with wright loss and fitness. I was about 16 stone and now am a little under 10. If you want a fitness friend you can be friends with me!

EAT WHAT YOU WANT IN MODERATION...AVOID STRICT DIETS BECAUSE YOU WILL FEEL DEPRIVED AND that IS WHEN DIETS GO AWRY...IT'S AN EATING STYLE YOU WANT TO DEVELOP...NOT A DIE-T...VERY NEGATIVE TERM...oops, caps. too tired to fix.

@Fernie Absolutely true.

@Fernie But I think I have to have a diet because I eat healthy like all the time, I have 3 meals a day no snack's in between, I have a bowl of fruit in the morning, boiled chicken or ham at dinner time and a cereal bar in the evening my last meal of the day. I exercise a fair amount and try to do more. But I often get bored with my eating or exercising habits and then tend to try other things but cannot find anymore to do? What should I do??

@Gabii00 fortunately for you your metabolism is still active. Your details indicate that you are doing everything you need to do but you are not losing weight. I can only think one problem might be that you need more portion control and more moving your body. Use your imagination when it gets boring...you have one...right? Research all of it...google your brains out. Find stories by other people who have lost a lot of weight

It really is simple.

Go see a doctor and ask for recommendations. Don't listen to us! But I am a firm believer that you know what your body needs to lose weight (just you may not want to do it). Create you own plan so you are doing EASY workouts that you can do 4/5 times a week and ask yourself. Stick to eating at meal times as much as possible. You know what's good for you and what is shit.
If you can get your doctor to teach you how to count calories and keep a food journal (boring but effective).

Don't try and lose more than 1/2 lbs per week. Once you get a routine started its easier but you have to make it a habit.

@mrwhiterabbit Love the idea...but already done it. It's difficult for me to keep on track with these things, I get to bored too easily, even my doctor was shocked on how fast I change my diets and exercise routine, they said I was doing everything good but they don't know how to keep me at it...

They also didn't like the fact that my diets and exercise plan changes a lot..

Put it down on paper. You are more likely to succeed if it is your plan. Put your exercise plan and and eating plan on paper. Don't make it too restrictive, It has to be something you can do for the rest of your life.

it's not going to be exciting. sorry. But it's your choice to make this a priority. It's also your choice to self sabotage by saying that you get bored to easily and that you can't stick to a plan. Your are setting your self up to feel good about yourself when you fail by saying 'see i told you i couldn't stick to it.'

I am on a ketogenic diet. I am a follower of Casey Durango on YouTube. I eat only when hungry, keep it under 20 gm. of carbs a day, eat around 1200 to 1400 calories, a lot of protein foods with some fat (like vinaigrette salad dressing). I stop eating when satiated, not "full." I am losing 3-4 lbs. a month which is not bad for my age and condition (73, arthritic and obese).

@greenmountaingal Okaay thank you! I've heard about this diet...I may try it!

@Gabii00 It is very restrictive...but surprisingly easy to follow since hunger and appetite disappear after a few days on it. It's a lifetime way of eating because you'll gain weight if you go off it. The best part of this diet is that, unlike every low calorie diet I've ever tried, you don't think about food very much.
