I Have A Weight Goal

Hi I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a healthy diet to lose weight. I'm currently overweight and wanting to lose weight I'm currently 14 stone and want to become 8 stone...I'm love swimming and many other exercise's but I tend to get bored easily, which mean's I don't really keep up with my diets or exercises. I change my diet plan at least once a month and change my exercise plan every 3-4 weeks. I'm easily bored and easily distracted. I like to new diets and exercise's...as it's hard for me to keep to a diet and exercise. So I'm asking for help, are there any recommendations?

Unfortunately significant weight loss is a grind but there are ways to make it easier. Get an app like My Fitness Pal or Lose It to help you track your calories and macros and exercises. After about 3-4 months it feels just like part of life.

I also watch and read LOTS of motivating stuff.

Not knowing what medical conditions you have I can only tell you what has worked for me: high protein diet. Set that goal HIGH and you will never over eat carbs. I suggest a good protein powder.

Also LOTS OF CARDIO! Strength training too but mostly cardio.

I am obsessed with wright loss and fitness. I was about 16 stone and now am a little under 10. If you want a fitness friend you can be friends with me!

@Gabii00 message me any time! I often wander off doing activities during the day but I come back eventually!

What kind of experience have you had with weight loss and fitness? Have you had problems with obesity in the past? How tall are you?

A piece of advice I wish I had listened to is to take lots of progress pics. It sucks at first but a year from now you will be blown away!!!

Thank you so much! I've been big since I was little, even though I was and still am a active person It always seems I can never actually lose anything. I swim, dance and even played rugby and went on all diets but I was still over weight-_-

I'm 5.5ft

I'll start the photo progress right away! Thanks for that!

@Doomflower @Gabii00 I’ve been using the app, My Fitness Pal daily for nearly two years and it’s life changing. Takes a bit of work to get going but once you do your diet, exercise and weight loss really start to make sense.

@SW-User Does it really work? If I were to use it do you think I'll be able to lose weight? Do you think it will be able to keep on a deit and exercise plan for a while? that's what I struggle with the most...is sticking to the plan, as I get bored easily.

@SW-User I LOVE MFP. I've only ever used the free version. Did you upgrade or no?

@Doomflower I’ve just stuck with the free version and it’s great. Not sure what the paid version gives you.

@Gabii00 If you are patient enough to set it up correctly then it really does work. I was skeptical at first but it does. And even if you don’t stick to it, at least you can see exactly what your eating too much of and how much your exercise contributed. But it’s free and does have a couple of downsides that are worth understanding. The main one is that the food you lookup has all been put there by other users so some is ver accurate while others isn’t, so at first you may have to compare it to some nutritional websites. You can also enter your own too or modify incorrect entries. If you also get the phone app you can scan the bar codes on packaged foods for instant nutritional info :). You also need to weigh some items of food at first to get an idea. So like I weigh my soup ingredients the first time I made it. But now have it saved as a favourite. So once you get past the setting up and a few days of use it becomes really easy. I love it!
