Usually they've already made up their minds and want validation.

Get them to sign a waiver ... Very important!

At work it’s common to ask an opinion. Here, people ask then hate the answer. So why ask the question in the first place?

Sometimes, but because of the type of work I do not necessarily. I am basically a therapist in my line of work. People want advice, but don't ever want to take it. Sometimes it's just a waste of time.

Depends on the subject. If they ask about eyeliners,that’s probably the case

I think they have an idea but they aren’t 100% confident with it so they would like a second opinion

If someone is asking me for advice it has to be pure desperation because I’m a complete fuckup

Depends. Sometimes they’ve already decided, or at least narrowed down options, and simply want corroboration.

I often wonder why they bother. Like asking a vegan for tips on how to cook the perfect steak.
