Books? What's your desire?

Do you read? Books come in many ways now. E-books, Audiobooks, Paperback books, Hardcover books, Short books (word count), Long books (word count), and Braille books
StarLily · 51-55, F
I like hard cover books. While I have read some E-books and listened to audio books while working out, there's nothing like a physical book and turning it's pages... the touch, the smell, words all bundled up in a way that you can hold.
Coletracer · M
@StarLily very well put, a love that is forever
summersong · F
Love physical books, especially hardcover, but I’m out of shelf space.
SW-User
@summersong Electronic books are alright. However, certain books I need to have the physical volume in my hand.
Coletracer · M
@summersong We are on the same page :-)
summersong · F
@SW-User I love electronic books for commuting and when I travel but yeah, physical ones are just satisfying in a completely different way.
I prefer turning pages. I prefer smelling old books. Getting lost in them. Settling into a cozy couch and becoming immersed...that's my style. Good night, my cowboy friend. I am off to bed. Hope you have some sun.
Coletracer · M
@PoetryNEmotion Dream the dream of dreams, and sleep the sleep well.
@Coletracer And back to bed I go. I need a loving man to cuddle with. Know one? Ha.
Paperbacks, most definitely. I'm a bit weird and need something I can hold onto and treasure. But my goodness, nothing beats a classic, especially wondering the history of where it's been.
Coletracer · M
@MoonlightLullaby I bet you love the used book stores or flea market book sales... I know I do.
@Coletracer Mhhhm. I'm an antique kind of girl all together..
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
😪 I went to an estate sale yesterday and got a book for $2 and plan to go back today to get mooorrreeeeee!! All the books should be only a $1 now..
summersong · F
@AuRevoir those are the best.
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
@summersong 🥺 They're my kind of shopping mall..
Coletracer · M
@AuRevoir great way to get books
4meAndyou · F
I love real books. Of course, they pile up. I have to donate them to my neighbors now, if I buy them. I would borrow more books at the library, but my reading fervor is intermittent. I might lose interest and the book sits there for 3 months...🤣.

I buy audio books for my son every year, (maybe not this year), because he used to have a long commute before he began to work from home due to this virus.

The last book I read was actually a lot of fun...about an ancient Druid living in modern Arizona. It's actually funny...I think his dog is my favorite character...🤣.

It was Hounded, by Kevin Hearne.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
I love paperbacks though now due to lack of space I’m slowly going to Kindle
Coletracer · M
@Longpatrol What's this about a lack of space?

Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@Coletracer er did I say lack of space? I must have misspoke 😂😂
CheshireCatalyst · 36-40, M
Just like boobs and food, I'm very excited by all types of books.
Coletracer · M
@CheshireCatalyst I've never quite heard it put that way
FurryFace · 61-69, M
i gave up books for watching movies , i'm a lazy reader
Coletracer · M
@FurryFace Movies have their place but a book takes you into a beautiful kind of world movies can't grasp.

I used to roam used book stores and libraries quite a bit when in my 20's and 30's but now no more. I have complete sets old and newer of O.Henry that I bought 5 years back but have barely touched them. I read one called 41 stories by o.henry I came upon and loved it but that was it..
Coletracer · M
@SW-User there's no time like the present, a few minutes, an hour at a time... remember the love of the imaginary world.
SW-User
Short stories
exexec · 61-69, C
I always have one book of fiction in progress on my Kindle and a nonfiction book, usually a hardback, to be read at bedtime. That doesn't count the other books that I read for research.
Coletracer · M
@exexec Id say you are well-read, as an author and for other authors, I say thank you.
Nothing beats hardcover and paperbacks. Digital just doesn't have the same "feel" (no pun intended) to me.
Coletracer · M
jimjim1969 · M
I have switched to Kindle. A new book downloads in seconds, does not take up space. And you can read in a dark room.
Coletracer · M
@jimjim1969 I think all the versions of books have a place at the desired point of reading and even though I read in kindle, I still prefer the physical hardcover book.
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
Because of my anxiety I can't sit still and read. I avoid reading as much as possible.
Coletracer · M
@assemblingaknob I'm sorry but go audio and visualize new worlds
SW-User
I can’t stand any books.
Coletracer · M
@SW-User I'm so sorry, you are missing so much.
SW-User
@Coletracer what am I missing ? I tried reading books and they suck .
Coletracer · M
@SW-User You have to find the ones with the topics that interest you.
real books I can smell and feel
Coletracer · M
@ammelee you know it too!
SW-User
Yes, I love to read.
SW-User
Ebooks. That way I don't have to carry around my readers.

I can handle short or long books.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
