What exactly do people have against wearing masks? I could wear one for the rest of my life

Is it really that hard??
Nobody00 · F
Yes. Decreases oxygen intake plus you breathe back in all you just exhaled. Most likely your blood will not be oxygenated enough. Low oxygen may cause cancer. Ineffective against any viruses and more. Whats the point just because your TV said so?
@Nobody00 Surgeons wear masks to keep from infecting their patients. It's the same reason people are wearing masks now. I did do my research, dumbass. Please post a credible source that explains why it's a good idea for surgeons to wear masks but not anyone else.
Nobody00 · F
Some mask info here @LeopoldBloom

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25903751/

And I swear to God this is the last time I am posting link for anyone. SO DONE WITH THAT.

If you don’t like the post, scroll by. I am not spending hours arguing or trying to prove anything. Have more important things to do . Have a great day and breathe in as much fresh air as you can. Take care
@Nobody00 I never said cloth masks were as effective as medical masks. You didn't differentiate; you gave some bullshit response about "masks" in general decreasing oxygen intake and causing cancer. I guess you won't post a link supporting that, but don't worry, I can navigate to the Alex Jones site myself.

So based on the link you posted, can I conclude that you agree that people should wear medical masks to stop COVID from spreading?
curiosi · 61-69, F
Microbiologists agree that frequent mask wearing creates a moist environment in which microbes are allowed to grow and proliferate before entering the lungs. Those foreign microbes then travel down the trachea and into two tubes called the bronchi until they reach small air sacks covered in blood vessels called alveoli.

@curiosi That’s why I want people to wear masks. I’ll let Darwinism take effect.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@curiosi I don't know where yoou got that impresson. It isn't true. There is no evidence that any mask increases the incidence of infection. Of course, if the mask feels wet, it should be replaced.

I don't trust people who're all of a sudden concerned about my health who would've told me to go jump in a lake soley based on my political views before covid was a thing. I don't wear it so you (not you personally) can avoid me like the plague, i prefer it that way. Saves me the energy of having to deal with pretentious know-it-alls.

I lost plenty of family last year, right in the middle of this so called pandemic, not even a single one of em' died of covid. So turns out covid or no covid death happens. I don't question the reality of it I do however question the fear mongering around it.
@SW-User They're doing the right thing for the wrong reasons.

When I wear a mask, it's to protect others.
SW-User
@LeopoldBloom The right thing for me is to go on with my life.
@SW-User It's not like you were going to be arrested if you didn't wear a mask. There was plenty of conservative pearl-clutching over not being allowed to buy groceries when that probably happened to no more than two or three people.
bugeye · 26-30, F
it's not even to do with covid. there were times before the pandemic where if i had a bad cold or flu i'd wear one just to minimise passing it on. i wasn't forced to but it's just general courtesy.

it's only because it was mandated and required that people are opposing it, not because it's a mask. these people would probably protest bomb shelters if they were in ww2 because the government mandated it.
BlueVeins · 22-25
They're a little annoying 'cause they fog up my shades, but real talk -- I'm gonna keep wearing them just to slow the spread of other illnesses like influenza.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
See that idiot Abbot in Texas today declaring there’s no need to wear one ? And issuing an order to declare it ?

The older I get the harder it gets to defend stupid.
Not that you’d wish this stuff on anyone but.....
Lilymoon · F
@Picklebobble2 yup... boggles the mind. 🤦‍♀️
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I wear it because nobody really knows anything and I don’t want to get covid and I don’t want to give it to anybody.

@TheLastWord Next time you have surgery, please tell the doctor he doesn't need to wear a mask because "masks don't help."
awhitedot · 46-50, M
Wear a mask sucks. They make my glasses fog up and my nose itch. It’s the right thing to do and I do it but hate every damn minute.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@awhitedot it isn't something any one loves. In the hospital we were, I am retired, periodically fit tested for masks. Often I found i needed to change which I used. If your glasses fog, it generally means the fit isn't good and all your exhaled air is being forced up through leaks at the top. See the latest CDC suggestions on how to avoid it from happening. There are some simple maneuvers that may help.
KA9ha · 31-35, M
they are a protection offered cheaply to the contaminated air you inhale .
Same as wearing a helmet against head injuries or your shoes against foot injuries.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@KA9ha So what’s the big deal about wearing a helmet?
KA9ha · 31-35, M
@MrBrownstone i had talked about you wearing one while road driving whether ,bike or car ..... not strolling on roads and parks
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@KA9ha Why don’t you wear one walking around? What’s so hard about that?
Striker · M
I'll wear mine to keep safe from c-19 and maybe to hide my face!
Adamski24 · 41-45, M
I totally agree with you
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Adamski24 hmmm, doesn't look like it's being used effectively there, does it?

I have nothing against wearing masks, and always did from day one, but I still tested positive for covid.
with my looks its an improvement. I am happy to ware one forever to
@LeopoldBloom I have cancer in my face and head. I have lost half my face and scared all over.
@nevergiveup I'm very sorry to hear that. Sounds like a similar situation.
@LeopoldBloom I am still here. Not like a lot of people i have met at the hospital
Trump politicized mask wearing, so the conservatives in his cult won't wear them because they think that makes them liberal.
Elessar · 26-30, M
They need to pass the message they're nonconformist and "alternative".
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
I agree it isn't hard at all. People are just not smart
Lilymoon · F
It's not that hard no. People (some) are just idiots lol 🤷‍♀️
SW-User
I'll be glad when the government says it's safe to not wear one.
