Why won’t my car door open from the outside only inside?

The actuator on your car door is shot.
The work around is [i]gently[/i] turn the key all the way to the right and [u]hold it there[/u], simultaneously try the handle.

This was how our driver's side door worked for 3 years. It [b]is[/b] a lot of money to repair and you [b]will [/b]ask yourself, "Don't I just need a new car?"

It's probably just a plastic clip. Some auto salvage employees can both easily fix something like that if the car isn't too new and tell you in advance the most it will cost.
