The Antifa being the greatest threat to the US national security would imply the US being a fascist state. Of course this is not true, but maybe it's on his wish list.

@AgapeLove I genuinely believe there is something wrong with him. His behavior, the way he talks, his reactions to things. I think he might be autistic or have Asperger's syndrome or something like that. And that isn't an insult either.
@CountScrofula Going by the dictionary definition of terrorism, they technically fit the description, but just barely. If Antifa is to be considered terrorists then they're the least dangerous terrorist group in human history, because occasional street fights or chucking rocks at people is not violence on a scale high enough for most rational people to consider them an actual threat.
Which isn't to say I condone it. I don't condone chucking rocks at people, or spray painting on city buses as they've done. But you're correct about the narrative. Antifa is almost like a godsend to modern American conservatism because it provides them with exactly what they've wanted to pretend the greater portion of leftists are for so many years now - scary looking thugs who are trying to instill totalitarianism and prevent them from speaking their minds.
@BlueMetalChick Maybe Antifa will fit into a dictionary definition of terrorism (as would any illegal strike). My issue is that it's not a technical term, it's a political one that carries a lot of weight and means "BAD GUY" because the association is killing a [i]lot[/i] of people.
Language is defined by use, and the use of terrorist indicates someone who is a universal villain who [i]must be stopped[/i]. It implies a threat similar to ISIS and plays into the "the left are more violent than the right" thing I hear constantly from conservatives.
So although it may technically fit, it obscures what they actually are and do. I'm not even a supporter as their tactics just marginalize the left even more.

@SW-User Fascists were in positions of political power, and had access to large amounts of money, manpower, and weapons of war. Antifa are teenagers wearing hoodies who throw rocks at people in public and spray paint on bus windows.
Well ANTIFA is not a bunch of Altar Boys, or Scouts...they have a tendancy towards violence. If you feel this other poster is making stuff up, I encourage you to look up ANTIFA and decide for yourself.@BlueMetalChick

I know exactly who Antifa is. I know they're violent and engage in vandalism. But they're a bunch of edgy teens who wear face masks. They're not a threat to national security.
Not that I necessarily disagree with you, and I thought it was another poster. That said. 1. When someone says what he say/she says, don't take it at face value. research it, from various sources. 2. Who determines what is a national threat to security is very likely people well above, as we would say in the military, "above his pay grade". My point is some people in Gov't for various reasons may well consider them a threat.@BlueMetalChick
