May urges MPs to have a 'second look' at her Brexit deal.

The turd has been polished so maybe it shines.

A turds still a turd.

The last two years are embarrassing. So many machievellien backstabbers of both parties.
The majority of people voted to leave
If we don't leave everybody should be ashamed of themselves.
Because obviously their vote or mine didn't count for anything.
P'S I was a remaimer but I'm so disgusted with what's happened
We should be leaving
It's not a flip of a coin
Best of five ?

@Platinum I said I would help fund a second indyref
Platinum · M
Why if you're not a Scot...it's none of your business@Longleggedlady
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
Does not mean anything that I am not a Scot I have interests in Scotland
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
Whole thing is stupid and unworkable idea best way forward be brave and cancel it
Platinum · M
@Taenzer66 you are getting boring now, you don't listen or read...go and bore someone else, I can't tell you the same things 20 times..
Taenzer66 · 56-60, M
@Platinum You only told me demonstrably false things and when I question that you don’t provide any logical argument but more falsities
But you’re right, I’ll stop trying to explain it to you and rest my case
Platinum · M
This is my last comment to you, you said it was legally binding to pay them 39 billion and I've proved you wrong , now go away @Taenzer66

@Longleggedlady thanks...I knew you were really nice...I've always driven jags, mercs and BMWs but I've had a Citroen for six years which is the longest I've ever had a car, I love it....we shall see what happens next, I think there will be another referendum unless she does a deal quickly and I'm not sure how it would work out...time will tell
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Platinum Tell you the truth I have no faith and no trust in politician's in a general election I try to figure out who is telling the least amount or smallest porkies but actually never count on them doing anything much
Platinum · M
@Longleggedlady everything they do is because they have their own agendas ...they are there for five years just to make as much as they can..they all lie...lets hope whatever happens next, is good for the country ...

I've read the whole of this thread, I listened to Jeremy Corbyn looking not-very-statesman-like whilst calling for a vote of no-confidence; I saw enough of Andrew Neil's programme on BBC2, with the likes of Alastair Campbell trotting out the same old crap...... Are all the people here so naive as to not suppose that the real negotiations have been going for the past 2 years in secret? Germany cannot afford not to export their cars to the UK - the ownership of Rolls Royce and Mini (by BMW) and Bentley (by VAG) without a deal would be contentious to say the least. Do the correspondents here really believe that Angela Merkel's government have been waiting patiently for the outcome of negotiations? As one German writer succinctly put in the FT: negotiations being undertaken by a Frenchman on behalf of all the countries of the EU! And no matter how much sabre-rattling the jumped-up EU officials indulge in to discourage the truth of the Commission's institutional corruption coming out into the open, they too know that a poor Germany will spell the end of their little gravy train.

Get real, people - this charade is all smoke and mirrors!

@Longleggedlady I voted for the first time in my life in the Brexit referendum. When I was young I read that it doesn't matter which political party you vote for because the government always gets in (elected). One of those humorous truisms.
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
I am having dispute with local council at the moment I want them to come clean up all the fallen leaves and fix the two potholes near my gate at home the leaves because they are very slippery and also keep covering the potholes they tell me they don't have the money to do it , so I told them I don't have the money to pay Council tax either because I had to pay for new tyre's because of the holes
ArtieKat · M
@Longleggedlady They (councils) have all got money for pet projects but not for frontline services. My local council - Labour controlled - pleads poverty but lends money to other councils at discounted rates.
since you are in the middle of it.

was brexit a good idea or no.,

I know one lad, voted for it, but then found out his new job was canceled.

has it affected your life eather way?
Platinum · M
You want them to vote because they will vote remain not because it's best for the uk but best for them, also that is why you want them to vote....as Scotland wants to leave the uk, they should not be allowed to vote....the referendum should only be for people who love this country and want to be an active part of our country....@Longleggedlady
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Platinum I think they had every right to vote in the referendum we cannot say vote for the government in the general election but then no you don't get to vote for a major decision that might affect your life
Platinum · M
You want as many people who you think will vote remain to have a vote, it's the government who decides who votes but you don't accept anything unless it gets you the result of remaining...when you voted in the referendum you knew and I knew it was a once only vote and I would have accepted the vote if remain won, you are a disgrace to my country....@Longleggedlady
GlassDog · 41-45, M
I think we've been following the same piece on the Guardian's website.

I know some people get fatigued with political stories that don't seem to advance themselves very quickly, but I can't remember a time in my life when there was so much opportunity to see our political systems tested. I feel like I've learned more in the past two years than in the previous ten. It's going to be an interesting evening tomorrow. Although, that would be the one small positive against an ocean of largely negative.
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Platinum it is same as us owning and running business in another country and as a nation we have plenty of it
Platinum · M
You don't realize how many companies over the years have been helped by the eu to move abroad which has cost us jobs and given jobs to other eu countries....it's cost us billions ....but I don't want to argue about this anymore...what happens, happens and there is nothing we can do....@Longleggedlady
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
I am not arguing yes that happened granted why but cause they were offered better deals elsewhere that you have to blame on our own stupid governments for not giving them incentives to stay here
Taenzer66 · 56-60, M
Given her red lines it's the only deal available and viewed from the continent, it's quite a good one for you!
Platinum · M
@Taenzer66 can't you read...if the withdrawal bill is not ratified then it won't be legally binding....I've already told you, we are obliged to pay for each year 2016-2020 which is the end of the transition period...but paying them is not legal until our ministers vote and agree the withdrawal bill....you are getting worse with every comment...I thought you seemed a reasonable guy at first, but that's slipping away...
Taenzer66 · 56-60, M
@Platinum I read the second paragraph, the one underneath the bold printed one, did you stop after the headline?
Platinum · M
We were talking about it being legal, I read everything and it's clear I was right and you were wrong it's not legally binding yet as you said it was....we can talk again on another subject....@Taenzer66
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@AliceTinker I made a donation to help fund blocking brexit would happily give the same again to get it cancelled as far as economic power goes this country can technically be bankrupted or at very least made very short of money
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
@Longleggedlady I don't know where you live but I live in London and I can tell! You now there are building projects going on all over south, easy north west London and huge developments, but thanks for your reply and nice to be able to have a debate about this like adults and no nastiness
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
They are under pressure believe my husband is a very qualified electrical Engineer has a small electrical company of 50 electrician that does the heavy electrical side of big buildings we they are constantly forced into lowering prices tendered we have lost many a contract because we simply cannot go low enough and make a profit my husband himself simply does not bother anymore to even try and get any of the local jobs as he says what they are willing to pay him is an insult has more or less retired now
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Nyloncapes Live in Surrey not far from Godalming prior to that Chelsea/Knightsbridge border SW1

If the immigrants are legal EU nationals there is something called reciprocity between the countries that is supposed to take that into account the issue is when they are illegals or refugees that have either got in or beem allowed in as a quota it does not exist then we as a country have to find the cost. Don't get me wrong I don't want illegal immigrants anymore than you do, but there we as a country do ourselves no favours in fact we make it attractive to come here because they get nice handouts etc Kent has recently displayed that they are prepared to risk crossing the channel in very dodgy boats to get here because of the handouts
The refugee issue was also brought about to an extent by UK poking our noses into other peoples squabbles etc and on some cases spending huge amounts of money flattening their countries we as tax payers pay for it then get asked to pay again and again for it neither issue could be cured by not being in EU
This has also to an extent fuelled all the nuts that are on the watchlist as well because we have poked our noses into other peoples squabbles Like Skirpal what is he doing here he was part of American swap deal we were asking for trouble and we have been and are paying for it
Platinum · M
Her deal keeps us in the eu for years and probably forever , I think art 50 will be delayed while they hatch up another plan, we need to leave on WTO and forget about another referendum...
Platinum · M
Did you not know companies have been putting people off for years before the referendum...we will leave on WTO , which most of the world trade under, even the eu and we will be buying on lower tariffs....@Longleggedlady
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Platinum It really does not matter much to me I Will be British/EU/Non EU National plus visa to live work and conduct business in Usa all at the same time I cover all my bases
Platinum · M
Good for you, leaving on WTO will make this country a much better place to live and cheaper...@Longleggedlady
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
I was wondering what was happening with that.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@CountScrofula Its less likely because the government lost a vote to MPs last week which seeks to guarantee against it. Its still possible though because the legal default with the EU is still no deal.

If (as looks likely) May loses the vote, she has three days to come up with an alternative. Labour are planning to push for an election which they could get but perhaps not. This is a full blown constitutional crisis.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Burnley123 Well, at least you can serve as an example!
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Burnley123 Parliament can also push to cancel the whole debacle
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
This is actually convincing me that labour should go for a second ref. Brexit voters can't be persuaded unless Labour is hard Brexit.
