May urges MPs to have a 'second look' at her Brexit deal.

The turd has been polished so maybe it shines.

I think we've been following the same piece on the Guardian's website.

I know some people get fatigued with political stories that don't seem to advance themselves very quickly, but I can't remember a time in my life when there was so much opportunity to see our political systems tested. I feel like I've learned more in the past two years than in the previous ten. It's going to be an interesting evening tomorrow. Although, that would be the one small positive against an ocean of largely negative.

@GlassDog But what have we learnt?

People draw different conclusions from the same events. For the Brexiteers, this is a disaster because of a failure of political will from our leaders. For remainders, this is a disaster based on lies of the referendum impacting with reality. There will be lasting divisions whatever happens.

@Burnley123 In my case, I was perhaps taking a detached view and not considering the voting public (perhaps because this is a government I didn't vote for carrying out a process I also didn't vote for). I'm interested in how they are doing it, though. Or not doing it. It feels historically unique given just how finely balanced the public are, the make-up of parliament and the influence of the DUP, and I know an indecisive vote tomorrow just prolongs the pain, but I'm certainly not expecting a win or an overwhelming loss. And so again it comes down to fine margins. Which result leads to an election, or her stepping down, an extension to article 50, plan B, something else....

I can't say I'm enjoying it, but I'm determined to get something from this shambles.

@GlassDog Its an optimistic view which I don't share but thanks for your thoughtful contribution.

@Burnley123 Are you expecting her to actually win it? I hadn't ruled it out but it didn't seem likely.

@GlassDog It is possible but unlikely

@Burnley123 the only lies told were by remain...ww2, recession, mass unemployment house price crash and £4300 worse off....

Wouldn't it have been good and for once these MPs stopped acting for there own political gain and grew up instead of trying to slag each other of, over the slightest thing and score political points , for once they could have acted as adults and the public would have respected them more, and said right the vote was to leave we work on this together and get the best deal what we want from EU , would change my mind about the childish antics they perform in Westminster

@GlassDog the basic problem is that the majority was too small the side that does not want it control most of the money if you don't have them and they are prepared to fight, disrupt and turn it into a dirty fight etc you have a this situation Scotland can be encouraged to leave and take it's gas,oil and electrical resources with it there is also the fact that Gatwick airport is owned more than 50% by french, Luton is Spanish owned several train companies are French owned water and electrical companies are EU owned the list is endless of what is used everyday that is foreign and specifically EU owned

@Longleggedlady that is why we should leave, the eu has gradually taken over most of our businesses
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Platinum it is same as us owning and running business in another country and as a nation we have plenty of it

You don't realize how many companies over the years have been helped by the eu to move abroad which has cost us jobs and given jobs to other eu countries....it's cost us billions ....but I don't want to argue about this anymore...what happens, happens and there is nothing we can do....@Longleggedlady
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
I am not arguing yes that happened granted why but cause they were offered better deals elsewhere that you have to blame on our own stupid governments for not giving them incentives to stay here
