Trump declares the FBI seizing documents from his lawyers as an "Attack on our country"."

Seems he thinks he owns America now.
Does anyone else remember the good old days when the slimy lawyer hiding behind the technicalities to keep some scumbag out of jail was the "bad guy?"

And yet the real attack on our country by the Russians doesn't warrant a peep. Funny how that works, huh?

Trump is a bully who thinks he runs a gang he can rally behind him by hiding his guilt and cowardice behind the indignity of his core base.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@jackjjackson Honestly, obtuse - that's a quality, not a name - doesn't even begin to describe you.

Your stir-the-pot/sagacious peacemaker ruse is tired.

I didn’t write this nonsensical thread I merely identified it. @Graylight

Violating attorney client privilege is only ok if libs are doing the violating ... right?

@SimplyTracie First there has to have been a crime committed, and so far, after months and months, and millions of taxpayer dollars, no crime has been found, therefore no Grand Jury. The previous President used that permission to lie almost every time he opened his mouth. The goddamndemocrats are upset that an outsider has come in and kicked over the rocks, and has found all kind of slimy things crawling out from under the rocks. Instead of attempting to find out why the democrat party policies were rejected by the people of the United States, they fall back on their usual tactics of mud slinging and innuendo. The goddamndemocrats will stop at nothing to overturn elections, there are many examples out there.

@sunsporter1649 The Republicans have the power in both houses + the WH. They should investigate your allegations.

After months and months, there have been indictments. You know that. The President can testify and clear this mess up. I’m sure you too want to see the guilty punished. He should sit down with the Mueller team and tell them what he knows about all that has been said.

If he is better than the former Presidents, he should be honorable and spill. It’s really that simple.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie Let me give you one example of how Washington protects its own. There is a former Secretary of State running around free, after violating US Code, Section 18, and obstructing the investigation.

The violations you refer to are process crimes, not covered by the original seating of the special prosecutor. If you look closely at the record of the special prosecutor, you will find several interesting cases he has been involved in, such as knowingly hiding evidence in a murder trial, where 4 innocent men went to jail. Cost you, the taxpayer, $100,000,000 dollars to settle with the defendants, and their widows. One of the indictments you refer to was a simple case of forgetting where the defendant was at a specific time in the past, another alleged crime occurred before the scope of the investigation. I personally would not get within 10 miles of the special prosecutor and his 17 henchmen, their job is not to find out the truth about foreign meddling in our elections, but to get rid of Trump, by any means, fair or foul.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
The President should sit down with the special prosecutor (Mueller) and tell everything he knows about the Russian meddling in our election. Geez, what’s so hard about that?

Of course he needs to answer any other question but so what? If he knows nothing, there’s nothing to tell.

I don’t know about the good old days.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SimplyTracie That would not work for anyone. Mueller is fishing and there is nothing Trump has done that can be questioned.
I find the whole response of the POTUS disturbing and offensive:
It's a disgrace, it's, frankly, a real disgrace, it's an attack on our country in a true sense. It's an attack on all we stand for.
The execution of law and justice is not an attack on America or what we stand for. It is what we stand for.

I find this language particularly disturbing as Mueller has said the POTUS is not a focus of his investigation, and as it has been said that the focus of this raid is Cohen, not Trump.

What makes something an "attack on our country" is not it being our friends, our dawgs. That it's embarrassing or annoying. That it looks bad, is bad press.

An "attack on our country" would be obstructing justice, casting aspersions on the process of justice, undermining those who seek justice.

Whatever "justice" means anymore.

I am curious to find out what law was broken to begin Mueller's investigation.
@SimplyTracie Probably some kind of anaerobic bacteria excrement from a deep ocean trench, but whale shit sounds more poetic.

@MistyCee
Hahahah it does huh?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SimplyTracie While there is some satisfaction in describing the Presidents character or lack of it, I really dont care how bad a person he is. I DO strongly care about the damage he is doing to the nation, which has an important role still to play in the world, and the people, both supporters and non supporters, who will be paying for his temper tantrums for decades. This guy has done America as a whole more damage than George W did in eight years, including the bank bail out and the Iraq war.
That’s pretty funny, actually, when his entire presidency has been an attack on our country.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Without trying to pick sides. What law was broken that warranted this raid? I honestly don't know so if you could fill me in I would appreciate it.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 As I understand, this is not about the Mueller investigation.. This is separate and about the Lawyer
Oh? First I heard about it. I thought Mueller's mandate was Russian collusion not lawyers 'breaking the election law'. Is Rosenstein going to boot strap another authorization? I think Mueller has been breaking the law.

Paying a hooker to shut up is against the law? Since when?
You're a Canadian, so you should understand what bank fraud and campaign finance violations are, but just in case, more than one person has already explained to you, in this thread, but you're still pretending you're a simple person asking a simple question.

And, just in case you don't get it, the Special Prosecutor has a mandate to unravel whatever wrong doing he uncovers.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@hippyjoe1955 How odd that you declare Trump innocent ("name the man and I'll find the crime") before even hearing the results of the search. Which was legal, incidentally.

@jackjjackson Ahhh. Anything like [big]witch hunt[/big] ?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@hlpflwthat You know, you'd think citizens would want to get to the bottom of a serious issue, regardless of the outcome, since it ultimately affects everyone. It's like blindly supporting a murderer because he said he liked your hair once.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Agreed. Americans do hope that Mueller eventually focuses on what they were told he would do which would be investigating Russian collusion in the 2016 election @Graylight
hlpflwthat · M
I remember that. Like it was today.
