I Like My Boss

Give me a man boss over a woman any day of the week. A man boss will say "AKH, Can you do this for me? OK, when do you need it? They give simple, concise answers with no drama.

Give me a woman boss and the problems begin. Every single time. Nothing is straight forward. Always drama and micromanaging.

I work from home which I love. When I feel I am losing my social skills, I go into the office and within minutes, the women are trying to drag me into their problems. I eat lunch with them and come back to my cave. That is all I can spare of my mental health without wanting to deck someone.

@akindheart Our turnover is ridiculously high, but for some reason the business still makes a good profit.

The owner's said more than once that this person isn't going anywhere, which basically is telling the rest of us to go to hell. As a result, morale is zero.

Oh, did I happen to mention that this woman is diagnosed as bipolar? It's true...go figure
AlienZipper · 61-69, M
@akindheart I think so too, but what's bad is we've lost good people in leadership positions because of her. And good help is getting harder to find.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@AlienZipper for sure. it will come to a head. trust me.
AlienZipper · 61-69, M
@akindheart I think so too

Years ago I had a woman boss and she was by far the best boss I have ever had. She would stand up for her team. Give you not only clear and precise instructions but she would prioritize them. She wasn't a micro manager either but she would drop by and see how things were going. She kept the drama out of the work place.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@TimSummers I think that is the key to being a successful woman boss. she has all the right qualities.
mbfman · 51-55, M
I don't think it is down to the sex of the boss, but to how good a manager they are. I have had my share of good male and female bosses, and some really bad ones of both sexes too.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@mbfman believe me, i have had a few bad male bosses too. sociopaths for sure but the women give me the most grief
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
My gosh, I really dislike that the women are being that way with you. I found the same thing to happen when I was working, which was fine because I liked that my peers felt like they could come to me with their drama, even if it was ridiculous. That’s when you become the voice of reason and bring them down a bit though. Instead of fueling it like others, I gave them another perspective...the perspective they needed.

I will say this though, I have had male and female bosses and honestly men were the worst in my opinion. I had respect with the women. They left me alone to do my thing because they knew it would get done. But there were more than a couple of men who felt a bit threatened by a woman who had a voice and refused to be walked on. I had one boss who shoo’d me away to go fetch something for him. The response I had to that demeaning demand put a target on me after that. He went out of his way to make each day we worked together way more difficult than necessary. And why? Because I made it known that I don’t think a title gives you power over me. You have to earn my respect, which he didn’t agree with.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@PerfectionOfTheHeart oh i had one male boss who told me he was going to have me arrested. LOL. i am still here and he is gone. but the women are underhanded. there is always an agenda. glad you had a positive experience
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@akindheart Haha the threats can be just adorable. Women can be...vindictive. Like, on an insane level. I try with all my might to avoid those women. They’re numbers are so great though and they can wear their masks pretty damn well.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@PerfectionOfTheHeart yep and that is why i head for my cave once the pettiness begins. This woman personifies sociopath😌
AlienZipper · 61-69, M
My mom told me the same thing years ago. She had a male boss who retired and was replaced by a woman. She hated it, for the reason you said. She said working with a bunch of women caused more stress than her actual job.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@PoetryNEmotion there are women who have to claw their way to the top and forget to retract the nails.
AlienZipper · 61-69, M
@akindheart Horns, not nails, in my case....
akindheart · 61-69, F
@AlienZipper gotcha!
I have had a male boss in my career only once in 25 years. He was quiet and fair. Women bosses tend to be either cut-throat cold like a shark or drama queens. I like neither. Most are disorganized and unprofessional and uncaring. My profession doesn't attract males. Too bad. I am happy that you work from home, akindheart.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@PoetryNEmotion you have one of the hardest jobs ever. underpaid and underappreciated. my friend went from a business degree to nursing. she told me stories i could not believe. she is now a PA
@akindheart I am seriously thinking of starting a new career. Decent jobs are too hard to find. No one wants to pay for my experience. You can hire 2, sometimes 3 for my pay scale. Cheap and incompetent tend to be popular now. I do miss saving lives, but I have some time still to retire. I may end up just taking a minimum wage job. It hurts my ego, but...I have to pay bills. And I value my freedom. Who told you my job isn't so dang glamorous? LOL. Take care, hon.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@PoetryNEmotion wishing you peace C!
Persephone · 51-55, F
I had a female boss, I had no trouble with her at all.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Persephone you wonder where people's heads are to promote incompetent people. they made my nemesis a manager and said they regretted it. duh...
Persephone · 51-55, F
@akindheart I remember being told that often people are purposely promoted to a level they can't cope with, but I can't figure out why.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Persephone its who they know. i am an island to myself so people leave me alone now but even SHE tries to give me work
I had a woman boss in my first job. So emotional and drama. Never again...
akindheart · 61-69, F
@jjoe01 see what i mean? yep.
sciguy18 · M
I have had both male and female bosses over the last 33 years at my current job. They both can have their issues...
akindheart · 61-69, F
@sciguy18 well i had 2 abusive bosses. one threatened to have me arrested. the other was just plain cruel. they met theirs in the end
That's why I'm a misogynist.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Existentior i am not predjudice at all. i have women friends too but in the work environment, i would prefer to work for a man.
couldn't agree with you more! ... thanks for posting
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I know the feeling. 🙂
