Have you ever been at a workplace that is too fake?

Where everybody is putting on a show "I love that for you!" to everyone or they tell a dumb joke, over and over. At first you are so fooled by it and then you feel betrayed by it, because it's a facade. They wind up being passive aggressive because they can't be aggressive with their positive act. Is this common with millennial office culture?
