I'm pretty weak.

I have not yet spend a year in working life but I already don't like being an employee, it feels like I have no freedom specially on how things are in my current company. It's always work sleep work sleep, even during weekends I can't escape from work. I just want to feel that I still have some control with my life, at first I was thinking of leaving but can't because I need the money and finding a new job with my history will probably be hard. IDK really.

For more context in my current work we are forced to work 12 hrs unpaid OT and also expected to work during week end for "Culture". I don't think that's part of adulting. I'm not yapping here that I have to work 40 hrs a week. 😭xD

@DustyPotato Unless exempt (if in US) you probably have a Dept of Labor, Fair Labor Standards Act complaint. Some smallrr companies are exempt. Document ALL unpaid OT by time, duties dine, who told you what.... keep a diary.
Working life usually STARTS at low levels for most. To climb the ladder, if that’s your goal, takes time.

And just doing your job isn’t enough. You have to stand out. Faster, more accurate, trustworthy, interested in learning. Then the doors start to open. Slowly.

Instant gratification does not happen.

You've got this. Work hard, be smart, plan and then plan some more. And just maybe....you'll be done with it in about 50 years. But probably not.

To have freedom in a job you need to have some expertise that the company values so highly that they would find it hard or expensive to replace. So perhaps you might consider getting some other qualifications. That might be difficult without money though.

Part of becoming an adult. You need to work a year or more before job hopping. Each hop tends to being more resonsibility not less.

Don’t worry, it will get worse before it gets worse.
Find a different job?

Yeah, pretty much. At least you’re not a leech.
