So how are older people like myself supposed to find jobs?

Granted i have a job but we got a new boss and she's terrible. As a result i want to abandon ship.

It’s too bad but a lot of people get comfortable in their jobs and they don’t keep up with networking and updating their resume. It’s so important to be well known to the leaders, managing principals, and CEOs in your particular field in the city/area where you work. Does the head of your company’s biggest competitor know who you are? They should!

Usually managers and administration don’t cultivate friendships with workforce level people…unless you give them some reason to recognize you. iamnikki is absolutely right about volunteering, a good way to stand out …if you choose your volunteer opportunities wisely.

I grant you it is not easy, have you thought about a career change

Not all females managers are bad, they have a power trip mentality and abuse it

Networking is so important. Reaching out to people in the field that you know

@TrunkZ I went to a workshop about how to become better known in your business field. One of the ideas presented by the speaker was to write an article for a newspaper, magazine, or professional journal entitled "The 3 Most Common Mistakes in (fill in your business) and How to Avoid Them" Most people can easily write something like that and sound like they know what they're doing

Network, volunteer then network with those people

@buriedalive: "Hired"
