Kidna pissed me off.

My boss told us that we need to sacrifice our 20s to grind, work 14 hours a day, and work through the weekends. He claims it will all be worth it because by the time we turn 30, we'll have enough money to "live the good life."

Honestly, it kind of pisses me off. What I actually like to do is hang out with my family, we usually ride motorcycles together. Him telling me that I can just do all of that in my 30s makes no sense. By then, my mom probably won't even be strong enough to ride a motorcycle anymore, and that's what really gets to me.

So get a different job. Nobody can make you do it.

@AdmiralPrune Sadly not much of a choice for now coz of financial issues. Also sad that its my 12th hour of duty today.

Well some of what he says is true BUT time with family is priceless. I would recommend a retirment tax you pay your self in a routh irs if you pay yourself 20% of everything you make you will also be able to retire bu 40. Now if you can join the military and you retire in 20.

Its definitely an option but I'd say it's only worth it if you work on establishing passive income or earn promotions that allow you to earn more without trading a ridiculous amount of your time.

You'd miss certain times and memories but you'll be in a better financial position to share others and show up for your family in more ways.

But to be frank it doesnt seem like ur boss cares though. Sounds like a douche tbh...

@RunawayKaz Yeah pretty much, while the pay is above average in my country it's not really worth both my health and time together with the family.

@DustyPotato That's fair. As long as you know what you're willing and not willing to sacrifice 🙌

Sorry, what kind of bullshit is that? If you had your own business and this would be some couch telling you that, I'd understand but when it's your boss telling you this, you work primarily for him and you should have rights like any employee should. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
He’s feeding you the same like old farts have been feeding people for generations . The best thing to do is learn some skills in your 20s and use it to build wealth in your 30s. A 14 hour grind for wage has never been “worth it” unless you lived in 70s.

@DareToSayIT Real, he keep using himself as an example as how he works 15 hrs a day everyday without break, saying we should match his energy.
