I’m quitting coffee today is the second day

I know this is going to sound crazy but I have so much energy I’ve been able to get stuff done without crashing and feeling tired

I’m starting to think that coffee does wake you up but then you crash and then you feel worse and even more tired than you did before

I have decided to supplement with matcha teas 🍵 they’re basically a super food. So what would it hurt? you have to add a little honey or it tastes like dirt

Im going to have to stop eating fried foods so much, spicy food (which is going to be tough because I eat a lot of Spanish and Asian food), dairy, caffeine and cut back on sugar

I’m having gerd like issues on top of the other stuff. I just got my blood work results back I’m waiting for the doctor to call me so we can go over them

Slow down on the changes, changing too much at the same time can also screw you up

@DeluxedEdition start with the food, you have the most trouble with, sounds like coffee, get on to the tea solidly, then the spicy that tends to cause more GERD issues, then dairy, unless you find dairy more of a problem

cutting out 1 specific category may , consuming all three at a minimum level may work, you just have play around and see.

but like any good scientist, change one variable at a time, until you determine you can change more.

I am not a coffee drinker but i can say.... congrats to you if thtas what you wnt to do AND.... teas are good

Also... if you are quitting those other things mentioned...please do them one at a time so that you are NOT overwhelmed and possibly have a better chance of success....

Mind over matter... my personal meaning and helps me in situations.... if YOU dont mind(meaning the withdrawals..crashes...anger..etc..or whatever) Then it dont matter(meaning what others think cuz you are reaching your goals)....

All wihtin reason of course lol

good for you. :) i tried quitting coffee once but i was falling asleep driving. maybe i should get some matcha tea :) eta- also, have you tried apple cider vinegar with honey mixed in a little water for the GERD?

@DeluxedEdition try one or two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar mixed iwth a tsp-tbs of honey mixed in about a 1/4 cup of water. tastes like apple juice. it worked for me when i was having heartburn. up to twice a day until it goes away completely. one dose should be enough to help if it's going to work for you

@Penny I just take a shot of apple cider vinegar raw when I have heart burn xD It burns like hell for a couple minutes but the the heartburn is gone.
Caffeine depletes your adrenal glands which is why once the coffee rush ends you feel more tired. Kudos to you on your quest. Sometimes caffeine is not as easy to quit. Take Jack here for example…

I get migraines when I don’t drink coffee. It’s quite literally a drug. There was even a time when I was getting sick when I couldn’t drink it 🤦‍♀️

@stratosranger i’ve been trying to wean off of it for sometime. I’ve been doing it successfully I just know that when it’s getting like that that it’s definitely a problem. I’ve been drinking it since I was a small child my grandmother thought that it cured ADHD LOLLLL
There was a study a few years back that showed coffee doesn’t make such a huge difference in how tired or awake you feel.

After quitting caffeine you will be tired for a few days then you go back to how you were

I love coffee and can never quit it bc it's a source of happiness to me.
However when I overdose I deffo feel jittery & nervous. Good luck 🥺

I haven't completely quit coffee, but cut down considerably. Reason is it makes my anxiety worse. And I have hypertension.
