A friend of mine started in a supermarket sacking groceries. Now he’s the bakery manager making 100k he and his wife are thinking about retiring now. They’re only 50
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Probably depends on what you value most.
The supermarket may not be ideal, but pubs are closing at a rate of knots so the chances of having your hours cut to the point of not making it worth it could be quite high

Lot of things to consider here. How does the pay/benefits compare? Travel time? How much do you/would you enjoy each job? Who are you working with?
You’re the one who will have to live with the decision, only you can decide. Do what you think will make you happy.

MrGomco · 36-40, M
@Muffintopgina well you should be getting the new job, if they pay enough and the environment is better, why not?
MrGomco · 36-40, M
@Muffintopgina So you've already taken the position for the new job?
PrimeTime · 51-55, M
If it pays better then sure. Leave on good terms so you can change back if you don’t like it
Muffintopgina · 26-30, F

PrimeTime · 51-55, M
@Muffintopgina Possibly. Going to pub is fun, never worked at one
Matt85 · 36-40, M
100 guys are gonna ask to buy you a drink
you may have to kick people out
you may have to clean up vomit

Unless you have future plans in the supermarket it’s not as high intensity as a bar maid but if you need money do bar maid they both have a future
Muffintopgina · 26-30, F

Monalisasmith86 · 41-45, F

There are probably more opportunities for career advancement at the grocery store.

If you get tips at the pub, that seems a lot more lucrative… if you can put up with the drunks.
Muffintopgina · 26-30, F
@Softandsweet2 lol I have to deal with loads of them when I go out on a weekend
Softandsweet2 · 31-35, F

DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Depends. Does it pay better? Will you get better hours? Are there any other benefits?
Markmywurdz · 56-60, M
Just as long as the landlord allows you to be a sexy barmaid.
