So is this normal behavior

So I've only worked in an office for about a year now and I was just wondering if it's normal for your co-workers to come into your office pick up something off of your desk look at it move it around and then put it back somewhere in a completely different spot than where you had it. And then pick something else up and do the same thing while they're talking to you.

I can't stand this.

We have had a clear/hot desk policy for years so there are rarely moveable objects on our desks to be interfered with.

I can remember in a previous job it was part of my morning routine to lay out five coloured pens in an order that was convenient for me to annotate a document. So of course people loved to mess that order up or put the pens on top of a cupboard where I could not reach them 😞

And managers wonder why people are reluctant to return to the office 🙄

@SunshineGirl I don't have a lot of things on my desk just for that reason but I do have my stress ball my air pods and a couple family pictures.

@Cigarguy It's very impolite to touch personal itens like those.

@SunshineGirl thankfully she works from home most of the time. But it drives me crazy when she comes in my office and just picks up stuff looks at it touches it spins it around in her hands and then moves it somewhere else. I think I really am just going to have to politely that aggressively tell her to stop
