I found $200 on the job , doing security .

What would you have done?

Update*** Thanks for your thoughts.. I was able to convince my coworker for us to do the right thing and we turned it into the head of Security at the end of our shift.

@Heavenlywarrior Good on you!!
If money is in your luck, you will get it. You won't have to pick up from anywhere. Doing the right thing is the hardest but the best.

Ps - you can. Edit your post and type this all there.

@Donotfolowme thanks I will

I believe in the UK that taking by finding is actually theft, and so the money would have been best handed in ....
If I found £10 in the street where it's not obvious who the owner might be and there is no central point to hand it in to, I'll put it in a charity collection. If I found a large amount of money I'd take it to the police station.

If the money was in a particular venue then I'd hand it in to a focal point, e.g. information desk, reception, etc.

I honesty don't need to be keeping other people's money, that's my primary reason. It's not that I'm a saint or anything.

I wouldn't keep it but I'm not sure how would I go about reporting it. If it's just money, you have no way to confirm that it belongs to the one who says its theirs. I guess I'd tell the manager or the boss.

@CrazyMusicLover thanks . I finally did do that at the end of my shift with the full amount. He “took it to lost and found”

I would have - I'm risk averse - and would hope someone would do it for me.

what you did is basically stole someobody's money. if the other guy flips on you - you'll probably (deservedly) get fired.

Good job!

I would hold onto it for a day or two. If no one comes around asking for it, keep it.
Me: … What money ?
icedsky · 51-55, M
Probably would have turned it in. But depends. Where do you work? Was it around Christmas?
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@icedsky it was 20 min ago

@Heavenlywarrior Sounds like a good tip for the evening shift.

I wouldn't have taken. I once refused $30,000 so yea that's that.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Donotfolowme thanks. Yeah my conscience is clear once again, I dodged a big one.

Had you taken it aren’t you on camera anyway?
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Moneyonmymind yeah we were on camera lol… it went well the Head of Security took it to lost and found supposedly
