If women really do get paid less than men for same hours and productivity, why aren’t economists not hiring just women to halve their overheads?

It’s illegal in Australia to pay 2 ppl different wages for the same job..

Same pay…
Man/woman.. if they drive coal trucks. They both get the same pay rate..
only reason someone would earn more is because they worked over time more than the other

If you could pay women less, why don’t businesses employ only women and save tonne$?

As a whole, I don't believe the gap exists, systematically. I do believe that performance should impact salaries though.
