Always the danger with text-massages.
Perhaps it's safer not to try to be sarcastic. Even gentle teasing meant in fun can be taken as a serious instyl, and no amount of silly face symbols will help there.
Instead try to advance your case constructively, and point out weaknesses or oppopsing views in the other's, politiely.
