I have one of these toys, Mr. Squiggles..it’s a battery-operated hamster that makes noises, laughs, talks and moves around in different directions. I had put it in a cabinet with the doors closed. Heard it laughing and talking a couple hours ago. No one turned it on or anything and it kept doing it randomly. I don’t know how it happened but it is very strange.
If you leave batteries inside toys, they will randomly turn the toy on when they start to die. Replace the batteries, and turn Mr. Squiggles off, and you should be all set.
I had a "haunted" night while working at the Homeless Shelter once, and learned that the "London Bridges Falling Down" toy, (which I had to carry down the hall and lock in the office), had dying batteries, and that is why it kept doing that.
@4meAndyou I think I bought it at a garage sale several years ago and it may have the same batteries in it that it had when I got it. Anyway I put it out in the sun room so the birds would be entertained or spooked when it randomly came on today.
@TryingtoLava I know a couple who’s house caught on fire. The pickup truck (maybe 2-3 years old) shorted out and caught on fire in the garage and set the house on fire in the middle of the night. The family got out safely and the fire department put the fire out. The family went to a hotel that night to stay. The next day the man went back to the home and looked around for whatever he could salvage. He heard a noise and it kept going. It was his daughter’s doll. When he found it it was partially melted and it kept saying “Ring-Around-A-Rosy-Pocket-Full-Of-Posies-Ashes-Ashes-We-All-Fall-Down”…the name of the doll was Ring Around A Rosy Doll. He took that doll and stomped it till the voice box broke. He wouldn’t let his daughter get any more talking dolls and they moved to another home and wouldn’t park any vehicle in the garage either. The truck company settled with him enough to buy a home on an acreage in a different county.
