This is what I look like now.....

[image][image] This is what I used to look like before I started taking antipsychotics which caused me to constantly gain weight! Now I am taking a little needle in my belly once a week and I am loosing on the minimum dose 3 lbs per week!!!!!!!!!!!! So far I've lost 12 lbs and today was my 4th injection!!!!!! I am so excited to step on the scale and see the pounds shed like crazy! I'm going to be pretty again!!!!! I am also doing a lot of walking, exercising, drinking ice water, and food portion controls. I am stoaked!

Yeah it is definitely motivating when we get a jump start on progress towards a goal.
I am no expert but I would imagine at some point the weight loss from the ozembic will slow or stop but by then you will be established with a healthy diet and exercise program so hopefully the weight can continue to come off.

Also, try not to get discouraged if at times you gain back a couple pounds or cheat a little on your diet. Progress is never linear but just when set backs happen, get back up and keep moving forward.

Congrats on the weight loss. I do have to wonder though just how many that actually need the medication have to go without because so many are using it as a type of diet pill. Diabetics rely on this drug to keep their sugars in check. The shortage is real.

@SlaveEt If people are buying it, I doubt big pharm is going to let a shortage happen. Companies are ALWAYS claiming there is a shortage. Just an excuse for them to price gouge later.

Saintsong might have some type of diabetes and the weight loss is a side effect. I do not know, it is not my business if she does or not.

I think most diabetic meds can cause some weight loss, but I am no expert.

@SlaveEt I'm surprised, and wonder why they constantly advertise if they can't keep up with demand...

@fun4us2b Oh every company is acting like there is a shortage. Bullsh*t. No different than when they sell garbage on TV and say "but hurry, supplies are limited" yeah right.

Took my second injection of 0.25mg Ozempic and can already tell my body composition is slowly changing. Within the first hour or so I had this boost in energy and have begun to tackle chores around the house that long needed tending. My hunger subsides soon and I feel "full" much longer. Paying attention to eating lots of nutrititous food while reducing the junk. Walking my steps during the week and weightlifting at the gym on the weekend.

Did doc start you off slow? What dose are you on? Did you eat a lot of junk before? How long will you be on it? I was surprised the needle didn't hurt at all, I could barely feel it. I'm such a big crybaby, hahaha 😂

@PatKirby yes I started at 0.25 mg for the first 4 doses then 0.5 mg last Wednesday! I used to drink a lot of coffee with a lot of sugar in it which made me obese. Now I am quickly losing the weight on this drug about 1- 3 lbs per week!

@saintsong
Ok I see, so they increased the dosage. I wonder if I should boost as well. Did you have to see the doctor again for them to increase or was it part of the game plan? Got an appt to see doc as a follow up. This is good news, good for you 👍

You will always be pretty!
I share your thrill in losing weight that has seemingly encumbered you.
I use a needle for insulin so it is something you can get used to.
Congrats!
saintsong · 41-45, F

Do you work for the company behind this medication, by chance?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
I got massive weight gain from risperidone and it affected my hormones terribly. Lots of gory blood work, but my psych switched me to aripiprazole and I've been losing a lot of weight.

@Stereoguy okay I’ll try that. Cause I do love bread but I think I cut back on the bread over this year.
