Cardio or weight’s

I’m currently doing weight training at the gym and eating reasonable well (sometimes).
My aim is to lose weight and gain more muscle but I’ve seen so many opinions online saying that to lose weight (which is my main target) you should do more weight training. Is that the case or should i do some cardio as well or just stick to weight training.

Diet is like 75% of it

Do both

Weights 5-6 times a week and walk on the treadmill or whatever cardio do after the workout for 20-30 mins

I’ve been lifting for a while now and this is what works for me, diet super super important. Also just the amount you eat too, track macros too maybe.

Remember it’s a process, should see noticeable results in a few months, be consistent

@ImRileyTheDog my eating routine (not sure if it’s good or not) is first meal of the day is 12.30pm (at work at 7am) I don’t have anything between 7 and 12.30 as not hungry. Then next meal is dinner which is around 8pm (finish work at 7pm) then maybe a snack before bed. Should I be liking to change that or stick to it?

@Ian1892 I suppose it depends on what you’re eating and how much. I personally do not snack because I don’t have a big appetite but some people do but it’s usually something like fruit or healthy.

No breakfast? Maybe something small or one of those meal replacement shakes, oatmeal, toast. Small with fiber maybe.

Make sure your meals are high in protein. Another way to get protein is whey protein powder.

Snack before bed is fine, just not too late in my opinion. Again something on the healthier side.

Also depends on how much you workout, food is fuel. Protein is very important. Don’t forget carbohydrates either. Vegetables are always good too ofc.

Try not to drink your calories, so like soda, juice, coffee, etc. I really only drink water.

@ImRileyTheDog many thanks for your advice, to be honest the best advice I’ve been given. A lot of people try and complicate things and I never know what to do.

Eat all you want but don't be lazy, stand up straight, and to get the edgy look do day of exercise and a day not. And continue ^-^ feel yo boddy!

I can say from experience that a couple hours of HIIT training a week while eating more filling foods like meat and salads made me drop like 7 pounds in a couple weeks and I wasn't even trying. I walked a few miles a day by accident going to the Muay Thai gym as well so that counted.

It has to be a HIIT session where you sort of feel like you might die though haha.
