Should have gone to Pepperdine!!!

That's not cold. It was about 6 this morning here in Williston, ND. With my surplus military cold weather gear I'm good to 30-40 below with a 50-60 below windchill.

I read that fierst and thought, "No, I don't like the heat either", then realised you still use Farhenheit in America, so that 35º is only just above freezing!
I don't like the cold either, but it's easier to keep warm than to avoid over-heating.

I live in Oklahoma. The cold really doesn't bother me to much. I remember one year we got like 10 inches of snow. I just put on like 3 pairs of jeans and 3 of 4 shirts on. I had on a hoodie and a jacket. I went out side and drove the go cart around for a few hours

@TexChik my grandfather use to tell me he would see rattlers all the time. When I live there I never did see any.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TexChik that’s good to hear.

Here's what you have to do. You have to exercise in the cold (properly dressed of course) until you work up a sweat. Brisk walking may be sufficient. Maybe do it a few times on different days. That's how you adapt your body to cold temps. Hiding from the cold won't help.

You get used to it, I’m from Mississippi and when I first got here I was like you.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
The really good thing about cold weather is that no snakes will be crawling around at night and if I need to outside in the yard for any reason I won’t have to carry a flashlight with me shining on the yard where I am walking.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti no snakes or bugs anymore

We buy coats, hats, warm socks, boots, and gloves! AND unless you are into winter sports, most of us don't hang around outside when it is cold!

Good insulation and central heating, mostly.
Idk how people live in Southern Europe when it's 10°C (50°F), their houses are not insulated and they have no proper heating system. 😅

You could be in the south east where it’s very humid.

Haha 😆 I’m from Texas. It’s going to be over 80 this week. I’m not cut out for cold weather.

dress in layers. tank topand/or tshirt under a sweater or sweatshirt, warm tights under pants.. makes a big difference

I know people from upstate New York, like Utica/Rome and Syracuse, who would dance around in Speedos with that kind of weather.

We're just happy to be rid of the Spotted Lanternflies for a few months.

I've beed here my whole life and I am getting tired of it as well.

Enough exposure this winter and you'll become accustomed. This March you'll find any day above freezing is a heat wave.
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
I love the cold

Bundled up! Lol
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
When it gets to 35 below let me know. I will lend you my coat.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@hippyjoe1955 I would freeze if it was 35 below
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@smileylovesgaming You will get acclimatised. 45 below is survivable and even fun to go for a walk when it is that cold.
wackidywack · 26-30
this was pretty fookin funny. Anyway, hope college wont burn you out like the rest of us (it will). Big love
swirlie · 31-35
I could be worse! I'm in downtown Toronto Canada, it's 30 degrees outside and we're currently experiencing our first white-out snow blizzard of 2025! Before all is said and done, we should have 6 inches of snow on the streets and not a snow plow in sight! 😂 🇨🇦
er. bad news, there.
PHlover19701 · 56-60, M
35?....give it time...,youll be begging for the balmy days of 35 later 😆
thisguy20 · 41-45, M
Just wait until it actually gets cold!
