Just like they’re rarely against capital punishment, and aren’t that vocal about feeding hungry children.

But they’re most interested in controlling women’s and girls’ reproductive choices. 😞

@bijouxbroussard Wellllll....I think I have to make one of my rare defenses of my former church. The pro life movement was not always associated with evangelicals. It was initially a Roman Catholic movement....and the church has a strong history of opposing capital punishment and has fed numerous children. I won't defend them often, but I also oppose capital punishment.

@originnone I was also raised Catholic and I knew people who were actually consistent; they held food drives, took in children, and they didn’t fight against social programs that provided school lunches and Head Start classes. And people with whom I grew up weren’t bullying and threatening people in front of Planned Parenthood. All of that came much later.

@Matt85 That’s baloney. If the "pro-lifers" cared even a fraction as much about preventing gun violence as they do about controlling women’s and girls’ reproductive rights there would be fewer guns. They made certain there were fewer options for rape and incest victims in many Southern states. But they don’t adopt or contribute any more than those of us who are pro-choice.

Because we can't be a community. We don't share laws, rights or values because we don't even try for net neutrality. Democracy is impossible. War is forever.
Because we agree not to politics we have an empire instead of a home.
