Definitely not, especially as if he seems to want to dispossess the poor Palestines in favour of a "riviera", whatever he meant by that.
It would be the final insult to the Arabic nation from which Israel was carved in 1948, with considerable displacement at the time. Far from bringing peace in the Middle East it would inflame the entire situation even further; if not catastrophically certainly with repercussions lasting an unforeseeable time ahead.
All that for a foreigner who will be his own country's President for just four years, and for a handful of particularly zealous hard-liners in the Israeli government.
Although he is very much mindful of the hawks in his own government, If Netanyahu has any sense he will do what the Arabic states, Russia, China, Britain, France, Germany and others have all done in a remarkble show of unity, and say "NO!" to Mr. Donald Trump. They might say "No" in different ways for different reasons, but none support his proposal.
I don't think it will come to what amounts to invasion and colonising even if not militarily, but it may depend how much the US' own senior ministers are able to rein Mr. Trump in. Whatever he may or may not do within the USA - and that's America's own business - his foreign "policy" risks making the USA one of the least trustworthy of nations.
The most the USA should do, and really all it can do, is help the Palestinians rebuild their wrecked country physically. Though how much it would be able to help anyone overseas, now appears moot with Elon Musk trying to end America's foreign aid department. Oh the irony!

@Matt85 Matt, do you believe Trump is capable of implementing any kid of true infrastructure?
How many businesses does a man have to bankrupt before the rest of the world recognizes that he might not be so good at the things he claims to be good at?
Also, are you ignoring the implications of Trump taking over Gaza, buying Greenland and tallking about making Canada part of the United States? Who else in history thought they were going to be ruler of all the lands? 🤔🤔
Also, why would it be good to force Palastenian people away from their homes? Riddle me that, Matt....

Well, it won't happen. But it is interesting, because unlike the hand-wringing from left-wing western governments, it would address the problem.

@MartinII Well, left-wing governments do traditionally care about people rather more than right-wing ones; or at least they like everyone to think so.
However, Trump's expansionist ideas have drawn opposition from quite an alliance of left, right, coaltion, theocratic, anti-theocratic and owt-else-ic around the world.
Perhaps it won't happen because Trump's own senior ministers won't let it.

If you believe America should be the world's policeman and move into hotspots and fight the locals, then it's a good thing.
If you DON'T believe America should be the world's policeman, then it's the dummmest idea in decades.

@ElwoodBlues having said that, I’m certain that this is just another of Trump‘s ideas that he hasn’t thought through at all. It is completely unworkable and unenforceable, so I think this will just end up on the scrap heap along with such inspired gems as nuking hurricanes and, of course, injecting yourself with bleach.

Actually, it brings the asinine rantings of a megalomaniac to an entirely new level.
