How to insult people who play D&D?

@ViciDraco could be. There are some systems where low is good but typically not d20 ones.

@DarkHeaven some of the old school d20 clones use the roll under system. Particularly for ability checks.

@ViciDraco that’s cool. I started playing around the time 3rd edition had just come out and have played that, 3.5, pathfinder, and now 5e. I was not around during the whole 4e debacle, so I never played it, but I was told it was not good.

@DarkHeaven lot of people liked it, but it felt a lot more like a video game the way abilities worked. There was a lot of homogeniety to 4e. I also started with 3rd and went through the lineup. I just also keep informed on what is happening in the hobby space elsewise when I can. Shadowdark, for example, is getting a lot of buzz now after a wildly successful Kickstarter.

@ViciDraco cool. I’m actually pretty happy with 5e. It feels very balanced.

@ViciDraco isn’t it supposed to be more of an add on to 5e, instead of a rework. That’s how it sounded.

@DarkHeaven from what I've seen and general community sentiment, it is essentially going to be 5.5e - so you could use it together alright, but some things just aren't going to line up.

Though wizards refuses to call it that. Probably for fear of fracturing their customer base.
