No. Why would I?
[Scrolls that video off the screen.]
I admit tohaving flown less than ten times in my life, and only once abroad, but I had no idea passengers break into applause on landing. My memory of the arrival sound is of "Click-CLick-Click" as seat-belts are released.
Neither have I heard rounds of applause when the train reaches my destination. If I did, I might fear it is for me alighting at last!

Needs to be a good landing! None of that tailbone busting 3 bounce stuff. There's also the technical difficulty to consider. 30 knot crosswind in the rain on some short azz feeder runway. Coming in sideways, wing low and kissing concrete... That'll get a well done from cabin, Yo!

That happened once in Malaysia we were on air Asia and the pilot I don’t know what was going on but he eventually landed safely and everyone clapped
Nope… but I do a mental happy dance when my plane lands. Made it to where I needed to get to and I’m not at work.

No, I love flying, the only bad part of flying for me is the boarding process. The walking through the airport, finding the gate, waiting to board is all apart of the vacation experience for me.

@calicuz I was the same. the flying didn't worry me but until it happened all I knew about airports were film and news scenes of mazes of interminably long corridors full of grim-faced people walking as fast as they could, all obviously knowing exacalt where they ere going and woe betide any tyro in the way.
So I was afraid not of the flights (I enjoyed those) but of the airports - would I be in the right place at the right time or end up trying to persuade some suspicious Albanian customs officer that actually I should have arrived in Edinburgh not Tirana?

No. I've only been on a flight or two flights that had any.

No, but I'm always a little relieved.

I guess growing up in an aviation family, a safe landing isn't all that novel
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
Never been on a plane.

Do people do that?

Remember when people used to clap at the end of a movie? Like the actors can see and hear you?
With standing ovation.

Do I look like a moldy plate of dirty spaghetti? No way! But just wait until a shiny modern car breaks down and my 45 year old truck rolls past. I’ll be laughing my ass of!
Then I'll be clapping
Then I'll be clapping
