Do you like traveling by airplane?

I always have! As a kid I always loved looking out of window into the sea. It still is exciting. I also enjoy traveling by boat. At the same time, I like learning about air disasters and ship disasters...

I was 11 when I first went on an airplane on my own, without my parents. I met with my grandparents at the airport I flew to, and all the airline staff were very nice to me.

Not especially but it is a necessary evil.
SissySecrets · 46-50, T
It’s not bad but I don’t do it as much lately.

@SW-User we flew my mother and i for the first time recently from liverpool too jersey in the channel islands for my eldest nieces wedding . both mother and myself where not phased in any way by the flight there and back and would happily fly again if the chance came our way too do so

I used to enjoy it and traveled a lot for work. I don't fly now since I have to go through the Atlanta Airport. I hate that place!
exexec · 61-69, C
@SW-User I flew to LA; San Francisco; San Jose; Denver; Baltimore; Washington, DC; Dayton, OH; Huntsville, AL; Orlando; Tampa; Phoenix; Albuquerque; Augusta, GA; Memphis; Jackson, MS; Little Rock; NYC; London; Chicago; Austin; Dallas; Houston; Brownsville; San Antonio; and lots of times to Atlanta. I dislike Atlanta's baggage claim, rental car train, long hikes to the terminal if the train isn't working, security, food, and crowds.

@exexec which had best airport out of these places?
exexec · 61-69, C
@SW-User I guess my two favorites are Denver's and my home airport, Houston Hobby.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
When I am the pilot I love it. When I am a passenger I like the time I spend in the air. I hate all the nonsense I have to go through to get on the plane though.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 What kind of planes do you fly?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Cessnas or Pipers or other single engine aircraft under 4000 lbs. I learned on a Cessna so it is likely my favourite. Piper close behind.

Not since after 2001, I only did it once after that and that was in 2018 and I'll never do it again.

Talk about a loss of freedom. At least before you could bring a pipe-bomb on the plane and smoke a cigarette
Not really no, especially long ass flights. I look like a hot mess by the time I land.

I do enjoy exploring new places, just not the plane ride there.

While not a real fan of flying, its a convenient fast way to get around.. But you can take the "airport experience" at both ends and jam it where the sun dont shine..😷
Tumbleweed · F
The first and only time I've flown is when I flew from Cali to NC. Take off almost made me throw up but it was definitely worth it :)
DDonde · 31-35, M
International flights on a big plane and meals etc, yes. Domestic flights feel like riding a loud crammed bus though. I like airports.
DDonde · 31-35, M
@SW-User Longest I've done is across the Atlantic to Dublin
SW-User
@DDonde Atlantic Ocean intrigues me...I think of the Titanic and Air France Flight 447. I have traveled over it too.

Being the second largest ocean, it is vast and impressive
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@DDonde Airports are great places for people watching. It's better than Walmart. You never know what surprises you'll see.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
I like it. I just don't like the hassle of going through security or picking up my luggage
I don't mind it.. it's faster than a ship for sure
SW-User
@SStarfish ships are fun too, especially when sea is rough haha
@SW-User i like the sea and swimming and sailing.. i wish i could go out sailing but i have too many responsibilities.. dependents.. 😏
Anniedlr · 26-30, F
Well it’s the quickest way to get to Hong Kong and Shanghai from London.🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Yes. Nice views, great experience. I'll fly if given the chance.
It's a good way to travel long distances
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
Yes I like travel so much I could live on an airliner.
SW-User
@pancakeslam tell me where you have been!
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
Only short durations. I am obese I don't fit on the seat so I lay on the floor.
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
@Donotfolowme hard to tell if you're joking
Musicman · 61-69, M
Yes I do. I hate all the waiting in airports, but I love to fly.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
Yes but the only thing I hate is turbulence
SW-User
@Moneyonmymind I am ok with it
