Every day fuel companies are laughing at us

Wanting to fill up, I drive along Wanneroo Rd in Perth.
Many fuel stations. As I drive I notice the price is ranging between $2.15 and $2.25 per litre.
I refuse to fill up when the price is an obvious rort so I do not worry about refuelling.
I have enough fuel to get me where I am going.
As I continue driving I come across a Liberty Fuel Station. Their price? $1.61.
This is when my disgust at the other fuel companies reaches a peak.
Ampol, Shell, Caltex, Puma, Mobil, United plus many more are raking in billions of dollars profit every year.
If Liberty can sell at $1.61 and still make a profit then there is serious gouging going on with the other stations.
Sure, nothing I can do about it, except not buy from those rorting the public.
What I would like to do is line up all the Managing Directors and their underlings and....

Not defending this poor excuse! I find the whole situation disgusting.

Yet their reasoning for the price increases is due to the expense of the location! They are saying property taxes and upkeep of the stations is more expensive.

In truth they purposely increased the value of their own property through politics. And do so to limit the competition!

Totally disgusting! 😡

Every time any company says they support the community, every time a company gives in donations to the community, doing or saying that means they are advertising themselves. In addition to the above, which as well helps in getting what they want. More money and less competition.

The whole politics is disgustingly self supporting!

The counsel members created the districts to limit the competition. Which only helps the businesses.

Yet this is why the you must travel so far to get a fair and reasonable price. Inside any city as well as inside of certain districts of any given city. The price is always more expensive. See business zoning laws!

FOR ANYTHING!

The companies are bribing their city council members as well as the mayors.

Counsel member wants a parade? He goes to the companies and they support him by paying an entry price. Cheap advertising!

See my Christmas parade post just before Christmas. I talk about why no homeless. The business community bribed the counsel members to get rid of them. The proof is in the images of all the small businesses in that parade.

The schools themselves even must pay, just to get into the parade.

Free economy is a joke! Freedom for the wealthy, freedom for the aristocracy! And China is no better than this aristocracy! Communism is just another form of what Aristotle proposed.

Both are contraire to true democracy! Which Aristotle, Pluto and even Socrates deplored!

Oil prices have risen over the past few weeks. It is now trading close to $80 per barrel....so naturally, gas prices went up as well.

Its the holiday season price gouge. And the government cleans up in its own way, because people drive more and the excise cut goes up. This is "the free market" in reality..Thank goodness for Liberty..😷

They have the right to price as they see fit and you have the right to decide if, when, and where to purchase.

Nobody owes you any explanation or discount.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@RedBaron They certainly do owe an explanation.
They set their own price with the backing of Governments.
The higher the price of fuel, the more money for government coffers.
RedBaron · M
@Gusman And the higher their profit.

They’re in business to make a profit and have every right to do so. If they’re not making enough profit to make being in business worthwhile, why be in business at all?

At the same time, you have every right to choose not to drive and not to pay for the convenience.

Nobody is forcing anyone to be in business or to consume a product.

If you want the government to control the economy and dictate behavior, move to China, North Korea, or Russia.
not just the fuel companies...

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout No, ALL businesses are ripping us off.
Especially noticeable this time of year with all the sales.
I noticed one place - up to 90% off.
They would not sell products at a loss so still making money at 10% of the retail price.
Disgraceful in the extreme.
Shame on all those obviously gouging the consumer.
No sympathy from me when you go bust because of overpricing.

@MarmeeMarch I fill up when I find a station that is not intent on rorting the consumer.
If I had filled up (25 litres) at $2.25 it would have cost me $16 more than at $1.61.

The biggest problem and obstacle we need to overcome with these fuel companies is that they are sitting on a shit ton of patents for alternative fuels that they have acquired through various means over the years. This serves two purposes. First, it serves to prevent anyone from creating a viable fuel source that could put them out of business, and second, when the oil runs out, they'll hold all the cards.

@LordShadowfire Mongrels...the lot of them.

@Gusman I agree. They make money off human misery, and that's not remotely okay.
