@SW-User Great idea. You can keep a container in the freezer. During the really hot days of summer, my grandmother would fill a bowl with ice, and allow her fan to blow right over the ice toward where she was sitting.

@4meAndyou Exactly! Even drinking ice water helps. A piece or two of ice in a wash cloth is useful for rubbing on forehead and feet... whatever areas it will help a person feel cooler.
I'd say even a kiddie pool with water in a shaded area is good... and fun! lol I know everyone can't do all the things we list but some are bound to be useful to individuals.

@OceanRoses I don't think "they" have a plan. If you live in a high rise apartment, how are you going to stay cool and alive on the very hottest days of summer if we lose all electricity? I think we just have to plan for blackouts, like they are saying on the news channels.

@4meAndyou when was the last time you replace your fuel and air filters?
You can also try running + instead of regular or premium instead of + tire pressure and condition you can also try running a thinner oil just don’t use a 0w15 or 0w20 cleaning your injectors I use Lucas fuel system treatment also

@Ozuye502 I use synthetic oil...usually summer weight. Fuel and air filters haven't been changed for a few years...not since the last time I went to Jiffy Lube. Will have to look for that grade of gas. I usually just buy regular. I just had them check the tires for pressure.

@sunsporter1649 It almost looks like a disease, or like North Korea, spreading outward from California. I do realize that the time zones affect the number of lights on in that zone at that time.

@sunsporter1649 Night, on the east coast is full dark at 9 p.m., and at the same exact time California is 6 pm, so there wouldn't be too many lights on.

@soar2newhighs I worked with Alzheimer's patients at one time. What happens is that they lose all their filters, especially around sun down. They might normally be polite, but their ability to hide their true selves is removed by the disease, and they will swear, call people names, and lash out.
