Something for Car/Automobile Nerds

I don't know much about cars, but I was intrigued when I came across this the other day. I found out later that real car enthusiasts got it quickly, but do you know what make this is?

First prize for the correct answer is a feeling of self-satisfaction.

(The scribble on the number plate is my attempt to obscure the reg - on the photo not rl 😀)

It’s a Caterham 7. Nice lil track car

@Zaphod42 I just saw it in a car park. Never heard of the builder before. Are they not owned by Lotus now?
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
@FreddieUK I had thought they were their own company, but the way companies get bought and sold these days, who knows 🤷‍♂

@Zaphod42 Quite so.

A friend of mine had one about 25 years ago. And I used to work/live in Caterham in about 1983

Great looking car and often confused with the Lotus 7.

This is something James May would like.
@Zaphod42

Doh! I never would have guessed that. Richard seemed to like the fancy schmanzy Italian super cars best like the Paganis.

@rinkydinkydoink Hammond is practically American…Mustang, Harley Davidson, etc. His biggest European car love seems to be Porsche.
@Zaphod42

I miss those guys... well, their younger selves that is (and as a trio not so much on their own).

Lotus 7 built under licence by Caterham

It’s a car!

@RedBaron I'm sorry, no prize this time. Please try again in next week's competition when I'll post a picture of rabbit. DAMN! I've given away the answer.

Caterham or Lotus 7.

Is that that English vehicle that has humongous power to weight ratio and insane acceleration... An atomic it something similar?

Caterham 7 - at a rough guess!
