Is Mitsubishi a pretty good car?

I need to find a new car but Toyota and Chevrolet seem out of my price range. My car was totaled and trying to now replace it. I see a nice hatchback Mitsubishi online but don't know much about them. It does have three owners however the mileage is just 34k ...

Toyota and Honda would be my go-to car brands, but Mitsubishi isn’t bad. Avoid American domestics made after 1974 like the plague…they still haven’t recovered from all the mistakes and shortcuts they started taking after the 1973 oil embargo.
Don’t buy German either…they’re fantastic when they’re working right, but once they start to go wrong it’s a never ending series of costly repairs.

@Zaphod42 So a Mitsubishi might be a good option? It's within my price range, and besides it having three owners, the mileage is great.

@Coralmist I’d have a mechanic look at it first just to be sure, and Google for any specific issues for the year and model. But if it checks out, go for it.
