Tesla now has a larger Market cap than more than half of the auto industry combined. That increases Mr. Musk's net worth as the wealthiest man alive to 429.2 billion dollars. Amazing.
It can't be based on that valuation as it simply doesn't sell enough cars. It's the battery business and more importantly the AI driving technology that warrants that valuation.
I think most automotive industry futurists would predict that tesla will at best become a niche brand or disappear completely as China becomes the dominant bulk ev production centre.
@OldBrit I enjoy watching people proclaim how things will be. You’re correct, Tesla is not just a car company. But it doesn’t matter. The post is more focused on how a man can dominate a market to the degree he has. Bezos obviously did the same thing.
@foldedunfolding Really? Funny, you can choose a moment in time to prove your point. But Tesla still to this day dominates not only the EV market, but is still among the highest valued car companies in the world. And among its peers, its the youngest.
