No, an electric eel cannot start a car because it can't provide a constant, uninterrupted energy supply like a battery. Each electric pulse from an eel lasts only a couple thousandths of a second and delivers less than 1 amp. An electric eel's charge is depleted after a strong shock, and its electric organ takes time to recharge.

its a great idea but unfortunately they can only deliver a short shock of energy and apparently that doesn't work when you want to charge something
i was wondering something similar a while ago, i wondered if you could store the electricity from lightning but everyone said no

It would involve timing. You have to harass the eel at the right moment.
Hypothetically
496sbc · 36-40, M
no you could not do that the eel does not produce enough amps and way to many volts
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
nope
not enough amperage. electric eel only produces about 1 amp; a battery outputs anywhere from 400-1000 amps on average
In simple terms; think of electricity like a water hose; Voltage would be the pressure of the water, Amperage would be the size of hose. Trying to jump start a car with an electric eel would be akin to trying to turn a dam's hydroelectric generator with a water gun...

and eel out of water might be tough lol
Now there’s a question you don’t hear every day. 🤔
Alisha233 · 31-35, F
.......mmmmmm maybe more than one eel?

An electric eel that can source 300+ amps of current for 5 seconds would be a bad-*ass eel I’d not want to mess with.

Of course "hypothetically.”

I do that pretty often

No, an electric eel cannot jump start a car, but here's some related information about electric eels and jump starting cars:
Electric eel electricity
Electric eels can produce high-voltage shocks when they're defending themselves or hunting, but the current only lasts for about 2 milliseconds. While an eel the length of your arm can generate the equivalent of a 500 volt battery when out of water, the electrical charge disperses in water
